Upon the sale of the Knell family’s operating business, Harvey was confronted with a new set of challenges. How could he work to “let go early” like his father did so effectively, how he would support the transition of his family wealth, and most importantly to Harvey, how would he ensure critical skills were developed within his family to manage the enterprise. The FOX Spring Global Investment ForumTM was held in San Francisco on March 13th. The Forum brought together many of the most sophisticated investors of private capital across the FOX community. FOX's Kristi Kuechler joined us as she provides highlights of what we learned in the 2018 Global Investment Survey. She shared information on family offices' allocations and 2017 performance, took a deep dive as to how families are reconsidering traditional approaches to portfolio construction, discuss active versus passive investing for long-only strategies, and gave information as to how families are investing directly in operating businesses.
