Organizing Your Email

You can control the flow of email by going to the Online Discussion website.

If you navigate to the “My Account” tab, under “Membership type” you can select

  • Normal: receive messages as they are contributed
  • Digest: one daily e-mail with all the messages for that day
  • Mime digest: one daily e-mail with that days messages in MIME format
  • Index: one daily email with only the subject lines for that day
  • No email: receive no email from this mailing list

Most of our members choose to receive messages as they are contributed. Some utilize Email functions such as Microsoft Outlook "Rules Wizard" (found under the Tools menu in Outlook) to automatically transfer discussion group Emails into a separate folder within your general Inbox. Alternatively, you may choose to receive the discussion group messages in a digest format.

To avoid cluttering up other members' inboxes, please refrain from responding "Me too" to posted questions soliciting sample documents, templates, etc.  If one of your Peer Group participants does have a document that can be shared in response to a question submitted to the discussion group, and that participant responds to the discussion group list with the document attached, then all participants will receive it. Therefore, there is no need to ask to be included.
