Presenter Biographies

David M. Bauer
Chief Investment Officer, Lubar & Co.

Dave Bauer is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer with Lubar & Co, a Milwaukee based single family office, since 2005. He is involved in the direct investing/private equity activities of the firm and is on the board or working closely with the portfolio of companies and investments including American Pasteurization, Chem Design, Shared Imaging, Lake Express, Erdman, Drilltec, Rockland Industrial Products, Star Group (ticker: SGU), Zero Zone as well as the firms real-estate investment holdings. Prior to this, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Facilitator Capital Fund, a Wisconsin-based Small Business Investment Company. He started his career with Arthur Andersen where he led the Wisconsin transaction advisory services practice.
 
Dave received his M.B.A. from Marquette University in 2005 and his B.S. in Accounting in 1991. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPA's and the American Institute of CPA's.

In addition, Mr. Bauer is actively involved with several local charitable organizations including the Sisters of the Divine Savior and is an adjunct professor of corporate finance at Marquette University in their Executive M.B.A. program.

 

Margaret Vaughan Cox

President, MCV Consulting

Margaret Vaughan is a senior consultant at FOX and president of MCV Consulting, based in Houston, Texas. Margaret specializes in multigenerational family legacy and leadership planning and corporate strategic planning. A highly accomplished designer and facilitator of collaborative planning processes with over 20 years of international experience in her field, Margaret is sought out by a sophisticated client base of wealth owners,
senior executives and boards of directors. Her work has taken her throughout North America, Europe, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East.

Prior to forming MCV Consulting in 2002, Margaret served as a principal at Generon Consulting (now Reos Partners and Generon International) in Boston where she honed her skills as a strategy consultant and became an experienced scenario planner. Once founding her own firm, Margaret began applying the methodology of scenario planning to the family sector where she uses the methodology to help families envision alternate futures and identify strategies for reaching their desired future. Margaret has served as a senior member of the FOX consulting team for the past ten years.


Margaret earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in English Literature and Art History and a Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. She is certified in the facilitation of the scenario planning methodology through the Global Business Network (GBN) in Amsterdam, is a graduate of the Society for Organizational Learning’s Foundations for Leadership program in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is a Birkman® certified coach. Margaret is also a graduate of the American Works of Art Masters Program at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City.

 

Katherine Dunlevie
Executive Vice President, Managing Director, The Family Office at Synovus

Katherine Dunlevie leads The Family Office at Synovus, which provides family office services to 75+ ultra-high net worth families and administers more than $7 billion in assets. She directs all aspects of The Family Office at Synovus with a focus on client service, new business development, long-term business strategy, and financial performance. Katherine also leads collaborative efforts to plan, develop, and implement strategies that deliver exceptional services in support of family enterprises. Katherine’s entire career in financial services has been with Synovus. Prior to joining the Synovus family in 2002, she served with Cru, formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ, at the University of Georgia.
 
Katherine earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated with Highest Distinction. In addition, she is an Honors Graduate of the Cannon Trust School. Katherine’s certifications include Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®). She also is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
 

Christine B. Franco
Chief Executive Officer, Chinquapin Company

Christine Franco is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Chinquapin Trust Company. Located in Kansas City, Missouri, Chinquapin is a trust company/single family office that provides a full array of services to its clients including comprehensive wealth management, financial, tax and estate planning, investment planning and management, philanthropic planning and fiduciary services. Christine’s professional passion is developing her team to create an exceptional experience for her clients.

Prior to joining Chinquapin, Christine spent 20 years with The Duchossois Group and served as head of the family office for the Duchossois family and well as Chief Operating Officer, Senior Trust Officer and Treasurer of Travers Trust Company. Prior to entering the family office industry, Christine was a tax manager at Ernst & Young in Chicago where she spent a year in its Moscow, Russia office.
 
She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin in Madison as well as her Masters of Science degree in Taxation from DePaul University.
Ms. Franco is a CPA and is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois Society of CPAs. She sits on the board of Newhouse Shelter, a domestic violence shelter located in Kansas City’s urban core. 
 

Ana Gallardo
Co-Chair, Strategy Committee, Gallardo Family Group, Spain

Born and living in Barcelona, mother of three children and married to a French anthropologist. Her passion and professional life rely on Architecture, where she leads her own agency, specialized in refurbishment of hotels, housing and cultural buildings.

Member of the third generation (six cousins) of a Spanish family settled in Barcelona, whose historical core business is Pharma, she combines her professional life with her dedication to family issues.

She has been member of the Family Board for many years and chairs the Strategy and Family Development Committee since 2016, when a generational transition process started from 2nd to 3rd generation.
 

Carlos Gallardo 
Co-Chair, Strategy Committee, Gallardo Family Group, Spain

Carlos Gallardo is a member of the Gallardo family, owner of the Gallardo Family Group (GFG), where he holds a number of responsibilities including GFG Board Member and Board Member of Almirall S.A., a publicly traded pharmaceutical company. Carlos is also the founder and CEO of CG Health Ventures. CG Health Ventures builds digital health companies and invests in early stage digital health companies in the US and Europe. 

Previous to that, Carlos spent 12 years working in the pharmaceutical industry at Almirall (UK & Spain) and at Pfizer (USA). Carlos holds an MS in Industrial Engineering from the UPC in Barcelona and a MBA from Stanford University.
 

Jessica Swoyer Green
Family Council Chair, The Duchossois Family

Jessica Swoyer Green serves as Vice President of the Board of The Duchossois Family Foundation stewarding strategic gifts in the areas of wellness and education. In addition to serving the foundation, Jessica is the chair of the Duchossois Family Council, Board observer for The Duchossois Group and serves on the Advisory Council for their Family Office. Outside of the family enterprise, Jessica is privileged to serve as a Director for Chicago-based non-profit Interfaith Youth Core and as a Trustee for Elgin Academy. Most recently Jessica, in partnership with Urban Consulate, has helped to launch and curate a year long civic project in her hometown of Barrington, IL called, A Year of Courageous Conversations.


Amy Griman
Chief Trust Officer, BMO Wealth Management - U.S. 

Amy Griman oversees the BMO Private Bank personal trust offering and administration services for high net wealth individuals and families. She is also Chief Executive Officer for BMO Delaware Trust Company. In these roles she focuses on orchestrating the delivery of customized trust solutions to clients and implementing strategic initiatives to expand trust services. She joined the organization in 2017 and has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry.
 
A lawyer admitted to the bar for Indiana and the Southern District of the US District Court of Indiana, Amy received her Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin College.

She has served on the boards of the Indiana Repertory Theatre, Treasurer; and the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana, Governance Chair. She was also a member of professional advisory councils for the Indianapolis Art Museum, Indianapolis Children’s Museum and Central Indiana Community Foundation.

 

Stephanie A. Hammett
Chifam, LLC, NextGen

Stephanie Hammett is a Sixth-Generation Family Member served by Chifam LLC (a single family office SFO). She is a beneficiary of and a co-trustee on trusts managed by the SFO. The office helps family trustees and beneficiaries by engaging and supervising the work of outside professionals while having a small staff that deals with the members of the extended family. The focus of the office is on trust administration and accounting, estate planning, investment manager coordination, fiduciary and financial education, annual visits with family members, monthly newsletters, and estate and income tax return preparation.

Ms. Hammett is a recent graduate of Thomas Aquinas College (liberal arts and sciences great books curriculum). She has interned in the family’s legacy operating businesses (newsprint and forestry, broadcasting and print media, real estate and insurance). She has also participated on various Family Council/Assembly committees.
 
Lauren Heisler
President, Elser Enterprises, Inc. 


Lauren Heisler is President for Elser Enterprises in Milwaukee, WI. She serves a multi-generational family focusing on investments, financial planning and reporting, family education, and philanthropy. She spent the first two years of her time with Elser reviewing all aspects of the family office to promote family involvement and optimize the services provided.
Prior to her time with Elser, Lauren worked with a wealth owner to start a single-family office where she focused on public equities, private equities, and real estate investments. Lauren previously held positions at a multi-strategy hedge fund as well as auditing financial service organizations.
 
Lauren holds an MBA and BA from Marquette University and is a CPA.
 

Phyllis C. Hojel
Gen 1 Founder, HM International, LLC

Mrs. Phyllis Hojel served as one of three Directors of WFCGP, Inc., Windsor Quality Food Company, Ltd.’s managing general partner.  Along with her son, Richard, Mrs. Hojel manages the Hojel family investments.  Additionally, Phyllis Hojel has over 45 years’ experience in the volunteer sector.  Having spent most of her adult life in Mexico City, her involvement in the volunteer sector includes the Junior League of Mexico City; Member of the Board of Directors of The American School Foundation in Mexico City, National Council - Aspen Art Museum; Design Board of a ceramic factory in Puebla - Talavera Uriate; National Board - Medical College of Pennsylvania; Board of Visitors of M.D. Anderson; President of Private Voluntary Organization of Mexico City (PVO); Member of the Board of Directors of The Institute of the Americas of La Jolla, CA; and President of the Hojel-Schumacher Foundation.

 

Richard C. Hojel
Gen 2 Family Leader, HM International

Richard Hojel has been with Corporación Frigus-Therme since 1993 and in 1996 became its President and CEO. Corporación is a group of companies based in Mexico, including the following business units: a manufacturing process equipment company that services the petroleum and petrochemical industry (Zeeco-Therme), a commercial refrigeration equipment company (Frigus-Bohn) and a business that rents capacity to transport and market natural gas (Igasamex). He is President and CEO of Algas Industries (a US company), a designer and manufacturer of liquid vaporizers and gas mixing solutions.

Richard began his career at Andersen Consulting and has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a MBA from Harvard Business School. He has been a member of YPO since 1995.  

As a Partner of HM International, Richard works closely with and serves on the Board of Directors of Quality Sausage Company and American Innovations. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Algas-SDI, Frigus Bohn de Mexico, and Igasamex. Additionally, he participates as a Board Member of Corporación Zapata and Monte Xanic.  

Richard has been a Member of the Board of Directors of The Institute of the Americas since 2003 and served as Chairman from 2013 through 2018. He has been a trustee of the Hojel-Schumacher Foundation since 1995. 

He served on the boards of Windsor Quality Food Company (1996 - 2014), Enlink Geoenergy Services (2000 – 2014), PGI International (1996 – 2012) and Ninethhouse (1999 – 2008).

 

Andrew Hull
Chief Executive Officer, Todd Family Office, New Zealand

Andrew Hull was appointed Chief Executive in February 2017 after joining the Family Office in early 2016. Andrew brings extensive financial services experience having held senior management roles in global investment banking and wealth management organisations in both Asia and London over a 15-year period. During this time, he was responsible for a diverse set of functions spanning strategy, business management and strategic change management. Andrew counts among his achievements the establishment of multiple award-winning private banking and trust administration businesses across such diverse geographies as Japan, India and Singapore.

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University.

 

Larry Keeley
President/Co-Founder & Managing Director, DOBLIN, A Deloitte Business

Larry Keeley is a strategist who has worked for over three decades to develop effective innovation methods based in science and analytics. Larry is President and Co-Founder of Doblin Inc, an innovation strategy firm known for pioneering comprehensive innovation systems that materially improve innovation success rates and innovation return on investment. Doblin is now a unit of Deloitte Digital, where Keeley serves as a Managing Director.
 
Since 1979 Keeley has worked with many global companies on innovation effectiveness and has shaped innovation strategies in the philanthropic sector working with Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, MacArthur Foundation and others, plus governments around the world. Keeley lectures and publishes frequently on strategic aspects of innovation. Keeley’s book Ten Types of Innovation, the Discipline of Building Breakthroughs, from Wiley codifies much of the research and tradecraft that drives effective innovation, now available in twelve languages.
 

Keeley teaches graduate innovation strategy classes at the Institute of Design in Chicago, where he is also a board member. He lectures in executive education programs at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and at many other business schools as well as Singularity University worldwide.

 

Chris Martinez
Managing Director, Oakbrook Solutions

Chris Martinez is Managing Director of the Family Office practice at Oakbrook Solutions, an award-winning family office management consultancy. With over 20 years of operations and technology expertise within the industry, Chris has been a trusted adviser to family offices ranging from startup SFOs, to Forbes 400 families, to multi-billion dollar, multi-generational MFOs. Prior to consulting, Chris held C-level roles with The PrivateBank (PVTB), Wilmington Trust (MTB), Bingham Legg Advisers (LM), and a hedge fund, leading business growth and transformational change initiatives.

Chris is a frequent speaker at family office meetings and conferences and contributor to industry publications, thought leadership reports, and white papers. He is also a judge of the Family Wealth Report Awards and Private Asset Management Awards.

 

Greg McCann
Founder and Principal, McCann & Associates

Greg McCann is the Founder, Principal and Leader of a national family business consulting firm that createsworkshops, consults, publishes, and generally innovates on issues of importance to family enterprises. 

McCann & Associates is a boutique firm that has worked over the last two decades with family businesses and family enterprises throughout the United States. They collaborate with families to help them with transitions, leadership development, communication, and overall to make the family’s involvement in all its enterprises a benefit for both the business and the enterprise. They help cultivate the commitment to family, the greater trust, values-based decision making, and longer-term thinking that are vital strengths in well run family enterprises. 

As an author, educator, coach, consultant and speaker, McCann works with family enterprises in many areas all centered within the context of vertical leadership development. Greg has coached leaders and executives for nearly 20 years and is certified in Leadership Agility and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. 

McCann is the founder of the Family Enterprise Center at Stetson University, where he led the effort as a professor to develop the nation’s second minor and first under-graduate major in Family Enterprise. McCann wrote, When Your Parents Sign the Paychecks, that is a part of the Family Enterprise curriculum at Stetson University. Greg published his second book entitled, "Who Do You Think You Are? Aligning your Character and Reputation."


Troy McWhinney
Gen 1, Co-Founder, CIO, McWhinney Real Estate

At the age of 13, Troy and his brother Chad (15) opened their first roadside strawberry stand in southern California. Over the next few years, the brothers expanded the operations to more than 30 locations from San Diego to Los Angeles to Palm Springs. Their strawberry stand locations were primarily adjacent to busy shopping centers and residential communities. This led the two brothers to begin watching and learning from some of the wealthiest families and mentors in southern California, who owned large amounts of land and commercial real estate. The two brothers saw an opportunity to move to Colorado and begin buying farmland in the path of growth in the mid 1990’s.
 
Today, Chad and Troy own a diverse real estate portfolio with $3 billion of assets under management. The portfolio includes 17 hotels, 3,000 units of apartments and millions of square feet of commercial and industrial spaces. McWhinney’s properties are located in high growth markets; Colorado, California, Oregon, Massachusetts and Texas. They have grown their diverse portfolio by working directly with family offices who appreciate their business model of owning high quality real estate that produces regular and re-occurring cash flow and long-term asset appreciation in a very tax efficient manner.


 

Gilbert Miller
Chair, Bradley-Turner Foundation, 5th Generation Member, Bradley-Turner Family

Gilbert Miller serves as the Board Chair of the Bradley-Turner Foundation, a 5th generation family foundation, based in Columbus, Georgia. He is also a trustee of the Beloco Foundation, formally joining as a trustee in 2000. He is currently the Board Chair of the Southeastern Council of Foundations and is also a Director of W.C. Bradley Company.

He is a trustee of Epworth-by-the-Sea, Andrew College, and the Florida Chapter of The Nature
Conservancy, and while not in the boardroom, he manages Kimi Farms Christmas Trees, a family-owned small business, now in its fourth decade. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Gilbert continues his involvement at his alma mater, serving on the Dean’s Council of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

 

Tina Milligan
Managing Director, BMO Family Office

Tina Milligan joined BMO in 2014 and has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including working with financial institutions and public accounting firms. She oversees the delivery of integrated wealth management advice and client service for ultra-affluent clients. Ms. Milligan’s expertise includes tax planning and compliance, wealth transfer, charitable and philanthropic planning, and business owner and corporate executive planning. BMO Family Office serves over 300 wealthy individuals and families across the United States and internationally, and oversees more than $36 billion in assets under management or advisement, with an additional $46 billion inassets under custody and administration. 
 
Ms. Milligan earned a B.S. in Accounting from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She has an M.S. in Accounting from Roosevelt University Heller College of Business in Chicago, and a J.D. from Concord Law School. Ms. Milligan serves on the boards of Chicago Estate Planning Council, Roosevelt University, and the Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Alliance. Ms. Milligan is a member of AICPA, New York State Society of CPAs and Illinois CPA Society.

 

Michael J. Montgomery
Chief Executive Officer, Ford Estates, LLC and Brush Street Investments, LLC

Michael Montgomery serves as Chief Executive Officer and lead family advisor for Ford Estates, LLC and Brush Street Investments, LLC, the Ford Estates investment arm. Collectively, Ford Estates and Brush Street deliver comprehensive family office and investment advisory services to a sizable and growing multigenerational family.  Michael’s responsibilities include setting the strategic vision for the family office, developing innovative solutions to preserve and grow the family’s wealth and ensuring the family receives a seamless delivery of integrated services.  

Michael has over 26 years of diverse wealth management experience that spans investment strategy, tax planning, corporate transactions and business strategy. Prior to joining Ford Estates, LLC, Michael held several leadership roles within the wealth management division of the Bank of Montreal, or “BMO”. Most recently, he served as the President of BMO Wealth Management’s Ultra-High Worth Division, which operates as an advisory boutique in the U.S. for ultra-affluent individuals, families and their family offices. Prior to that role, he served as the President of the Ultra-High Net Worth Division’s Western Region, the National Head of Sales Strategy & Practice Management and a Managing Director for BMO’s U.S. Private Banking operations. Michael is also an alumna of Tolleson Wealth Management, a leading wealth management firm based in Dallas, Texas.

Michael earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Southern Methodist University-Cox School of Business. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Texas A&M University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a CFP® certificant and a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).  

 

Michael Nelson
Chief Administrative Officer, AMWAY 

Michael Nelson is the Chief Administrative Officer for Amway. Michael leads Amway’s supply chain, information technology, legal, government affairs, information security, executive and internal communications as well as the shareholder engagement organizations. He also oversees the company’s Aviation division and the Amway Hotel Corporation. Nelson reports directly to Amway CEO Milind Pant and serves on Amway’s Global Leadership Team, Amway’s key executive decision-making body focused on global strategy development and delivering meaningful ABO and customer experiences. He also serves on Amway’s Executive Staff comprised of top cross-functional executive leaders focused on enhancing company culture, talent capabilities and global market needs.

He has been with Amway since 1992 in a variety of leadership roles related to company strategy, vision and growth, working extensively with Amway markets around the world. Nelson previously served as Chief Information Officer and as vice president of Amway global strategic planning. Prior to leading strategy, Nelson was director of project management and director of strategic procurement.

Nelson serves on the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and the boards of directors for D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s and Keystone Community Church.

Nelson earned a B.A. degree in business and supply chain management from Michigan State University. He received a Master of Management degree from Aquinas College.

 

P. Wayne Osborne
CEO of a Gen 1 Family Office in the San Francisco Bay Area

Wayne Osborne is a widely respected and successful leader within the Family Office industry, bringing 30 years of experience in the domain to Way2B1, a platform that addresses the common challenges faced by families and family offices; providing an integrated access point to people, services, and information. He currently serves as CEO and Co-Founder of Way2B1 and as CEO to a high net worth family in the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to leading his current organization, Osborne built and led teams supporting Mortimer B. Zuckerman, Sanford Grossman, Joseph E. Brooks, and Helen Frankenthaler.

Osborne Co-Founded and served on the Board of Presbyterian Promise, an organization for the mutual support and empowerment of GLBT persons. He currently serves on the boards of Safe and Sound, Four Directions, and Newday Financial Technologies. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church, USA and served for two years as a chaplain at Princeton University. Osborne received his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude from Belhaven College. He was recognized as the Connecticut American Red Cross Hero of the Year in 2006. He is a singer-songwriter, an artist receiving many commissions, enjoys writing, and athletic activities.

 

Maurizio Petta
CEO, Seragnoli Family Office

Maurizio Petta is Vice President and CEO of MaIS Holding. He is a Board Member of various leading Italian companies belonging to the Isabella Seràgnoli family or in which the family has a stake. He is also engaged in many boards of not-for-profit organizations and foundations, promoting the social responsibility of entrepreneurs and their families. He is also President of the Isabella Seràgnoli family Foundation. 

Maurizio Petta holds a PhD in Communication and one in Theoretical Philosophy, both from the University of Bologna. He has attended post-graduate studies at leading international universities such as Columbia University, New York and at the London Business School.
 

Eraldo Pomponi
Chief Digital Officer, Seragnoli Family Office

Eraldo Pomponi is Chief Digital Officer of MaIS Holding. He is also a Member of the MaIS Artificial Intelligence Research Center Scientific Board. He has been conducting the innovation process taking place in the Family Office since his arrival, about 2 years ago. He works as cultural and technological mediator easing the Family Office transition to a human centric, technology based new paradigm of wealth and lifestyle management.
 
Educated in electronic engineering, Eraldo Pomponi holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (IT) and Osaka City University (JP). Before joining MaIS, he worked as a consultant leading a team of Data Scientists / Software Engineers / Visualization Experts while previously he conducted research in Machine Learning / AI in prominent international universities in Japan, Germany, Russia, Italy and the USA.
 

Charles Reid
Family Director – Todd Family Office, Chair - Todd Family Council, New Zealand

Charles has significant wine industry experience, having spent his early career with a number of South Australian wineries after graduating from the University of Adelaide. He established his own winery in Canterbury in 1995 and sold it in 2002.

Charles is a director of Tongue in Groove Wine Company and was until recently the chair of the Todd Foundation Committee which allocated funding to the Christchurch Earthquake Recovery. Prior to joining the Family Office Board, Charles was a Trustee of the Todd Foundation for five years. He is currently the chair of the Todd Family Council which he has been actively involved in since 2004.

Charles has a master’s degree in History from Canterbury University and a Bachelor of Science (Wine) degree from Adelaide University.
 

Carl Robinson
Founding Partner, Vantage Leadership

The successful transition into an appreciably bigger role, whether it is one’s first assignment as an Officer or General Manager, or acending into the CEO’s office, is both high-stakes and fraught with unique challenge. Dr. Carl Robinson has spent the better part of the last thirty years assisting emerging executives in preparing for and navigating these career-defining moments. Leadership coaching at this level requires a deep appreciation for organizational, political, and business dynamics, and Dr. Robinson matches his considerable perspective in this regard with well-grounded insights into individual change and development. 

Licensed as a clinical psychologist in 1988, Dr. Robinson’s years of training in assessment and counselling shape his approach. He has developed a highly pragmatic and dynamic orientation to his coaching style. His goal is to add relevant and sustained value in each interaction, and he holds his clients to a very high standard. Early on, a set of mutually agreed-upon coaching targets will be established and revisited consistently throughout the engagement. Progress will be determined by measuring changes in behavior, effectiveness, and impact against these targets.

His clientele is broad and far-reaching, ranging from non-profit organizations to the Fortune 100. He has coached Csuite executives through role transitions at MITRE, the Federal Reserve System, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Steel Dynamics, Inc., MacLean-Fogg, and more. He has authored a number of articles and has frequently been interviewed by various business publications, including the Wall Street Journal. In addition, he is a highly regarded public speaker with an engaging and energetic style. He and his wife Karen reside in Chicago, Illinois. They have two grown children who live on opposite coasts, which gives them plenty of reasons to indulge their passion for travel.

 

Richard L. Roeding, Jr.
President, Summer Hill, Inc.

Richard L. Roeding, Jr. (Rick) has been responsible, for the past 32 years, for all aspects of wealth management for the Richard T. Farmer Family, the founder of Cintas Corporation. Mr. Roeding's achievements at Summer Hill include instituting numerous tax and estate planning initiatives, implementing a diversified portfolio management process, building a Private Equity investment platform, developing a fully integrated back office financial reporting system, and making numerous direct real estate investments. Mr. Roeding joined Summer Hill, Inc. as President in 1987 and sits on the Board of Directors of Summer Hill, Inc. and the Farmer Family Foundation. Prior to joining Summer Hill, Mr. Roeding was with Arthur Andersen & Company from 1975-1983 as Tax Manager, focused on tax planning for high net worth individuals (HNWI); from 1983-1987, was President of Fourth Street Capital Corporation, responsible for investment planning for HNWI. Mr. Roeding graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University.

 

Shivani Trivedi
Vice President, The Trivedi Family Office and Foundation

Shivani Trivedi is Vice President of The Trivedi Family Office and Foundation based in Pittsburgh, PA. As a second generation family member, she serves on the Board of Directors for both the family office and the family foundation. One of her goals is to help empower women in succession to assume leadership in their families. Prior to joining her family office in 2017, she began her career working in developmental psychology and neuroscience in Boston and New Delhi, and then later transitioned to becoming a fashion designer in New York City. Currently, she is a Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh’s Entrepreneurial’s Fellowship Program. She also serves on the Board of Directors and launched the Pittsburgh chapter of ProjectArt (a non-profit which is America’s largest free art school without owning a single building), and avidly pursues her interests in health and wellness. She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology with a Minor in Biology from Boston University and an A.A.S. degree in Fashion Design from Parsons the New School for Design.

Ann Dugan
Senior Managing Director of Advisory and Education Services  

Ann Dugan is the Senior Managing Director of Advisory and Education Services leading the FOX team in the delivery of services to substantial family enterprises and family offices striving to achieve long-term sustainability and multi-generational success.  

Ms. Dugan was an early innovator in understanding the power of knowledge, research, and entrepreneurship in building the enterprising family capacity and sustainability as she launched one of the first Global Institutes at the University of Pittsburgh. As founder and leader for nearly 30 years of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence while also serving as the Assistant Dean for the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, her success in helping other families, universities, and regions flourish has been recognized with numerous awards. Ann led her own successful succession in 2014. Post University, Ann focused her work on assisting families to start philanthropic organizations and foundations, and served as Executive in Residence for the Family Business Network (FBN) until joining the FOX leadership team in 2016. 

Ann holds a B.S. in Economics and M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. Ann is a fourth-generation member of a business-owning family and is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and led several ventures to success. Ms. Dugan currently serves on several public and private boards of directors. 
 

Mindy Kalinowski Earley, CMP, CFBA 
Chief Learning Officer

Mindy Earley is  Chief Learning Officer for Family Office Exchange. In her role, she works to foster integrated learning programs for enterprise families and is responsible for developing the family learning community. She provides support to the Family Learning and Experience Council and FOX Family Learning Network. Mindy believes that empowerment and knowledge are key to living a purpose-driven and self-actualized life. She is inspired by helping people learn, grow and discover the way that they will make personal and productive contributions, using their strengths and talents. 

Mindy has held various roles in small and large family offices and has been responsible for creating and stewarding professional learning networks in support of human and intellectual capital. She has designed learning experiences that increase the knowledge base and enhance the life path of individuals while providing personalized support and coaching to help them meet their goals. After spending over a decade working in higher education, Mindy is skilled in program creation for the student and young adult population. Her work included developing pioneering programs for learners to engage and thrive in college and through life after college. 

Combining her M.A. in Education, with a focus on learning development and educational theory, and her undergraduate degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, with a focus on programming and event planning, Mindy is uniquely trained to create exceptional experiences rooted in sound learning practices. As a Certified Meeting Professional with a certificate in Family Business Advising she enjoys helping families and rising generation members navigate the unique world of family enterprise and family relationships by understanding that responsibility and intention pave a path to personal achievement and satisfaction. 

 

Ruth Easterling
Managing Director, Member Services

Ruth Easterling is Managing Director of Member Services for Family Office Exchange (FOX). In her role, she works with family and advisor members to understand their objectives and provides guidance to help address their unique needs through the resources available at FOX. Ruth also moderates the Private Trust Company Network and works with the team at FOX to develop programming and insights for the Network. Ruth has held multiple roles at FOX including leading FOX member services, supervising the delivery of learning programs, and overseeing marketing to drive the redesign and brand initiatives that differentiate FOX today. 

Prior to joining FOX, Ruth worked with the professional services firm Smith, Bucklin & Associates, which provides management and consulting services to more than 180 associations. She served as executive director to professional associations ranging in size from 300 to 4,000 members, re-engineering membership structures and planning processes to better enable organizations to maximize their potential through efficient governance structures and member participation. In addition, Ruth often consulted with international and national organizations on strategic planning and governance design.  

Ruth holds a B.A. degree in Management and Leadership from Judson College.  

 

Charles B. Grace, III
Managing Director, Advisory and Education Services

Charles B. Grace, III is a Managing Director at Family Office Exchange (FOX) and based in New York City. He works primarily on Advisory Group projects at FOX for multi-generational families and family offices covering all aspects of wealth management.  Assignments have included work on strategic planning, generational transitions, family office design and assessment, governance, operations and processes, development of investment programs, advisor due diligence, and best practices.  Charlie is also active at FOX with family office and wealth advisor members as well as the firm’s thought leadership and original research.   
 
Charlie has been active for 20 years in the family office community advising high net worth families and serving as a resource to family offices.  He advised on investment portfolios and wealth management generally for almost 10 years working day-to-day at the multi-family office Ashbridge Investment Management LLC and the single-family office Ashbridge, LLC.  His responsibilities included client relationships, business development, and membership on the firm’s investment committee as well as business operations and firm strategy as Chairman of the Management Committee of the $1 billion investment advisory firm.  He still serves on the Board of the single-family office Ashbridge, LLC.  Charlie has been quoted in various publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The New York Times, and presented at many conferences focused on private investors and family offices.  
 
Charlie serves as Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee and Investment Committee of the nonprofit Tuttle Fund, Inc. in New York City.  He graduated with a J.D. from the Washington College of Law.  Charlie received a B.A. and M.A. in history from Bates College and the American University, respectively.
 

Sara Hamilton
Founder and CEO 

Sara Hamilton is the Founder and CEO of Family Office Exchange (FOX). She is a recognized visionary and credited with professionalizing the family office industry. Sara founded FOX in 1989 as a peer network for family office executives. Within 10 years, FOX could see that families needed help with their enterprise vision, managing financial transitions, and educating family members on responsible ownership.  
 
Today, Sara provides strategic direction for FOX and leads the development of new programs and services supporting enterprise families, family office executives, and wealth advisory firms in more than 27 countries. FOX has built a unique team of professionals serving multi-generational families, led by 20 technical experts who are supported by a dedicated team of 30 additional employees based in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Madrid. 
 
Sara is the co-author of Family Legacy and Leadership: Preserving True Family Wealth in Challenging Times. She also serves on the executive education faculty of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she is an adjunct faculty member for their Private Wealth Management course. She is on the founding boards for the International Private Directors Association and the Foundation for Gender Equality.

 

Nate Hamilton, CFA
Advisory Board Member

Nate Hamilton, CFA, is currently Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Heritage Partners Group, a private equity investment and operations platform focused on the acquisition and roll-up of consumer retail and information services businesses. Nate has significant experience in partnering with and investing alongside private family capital and family-owned businesses. Prior to founding Heritage, he worked in investment banking, sales and trading and private equity across several institutions including Goldman Sachs, UBS and as a co-founder of FDX Capital, a direct-investment platform built for FOX family offices. Nate currently sits on the Advisory Board of Family Office Exchange and is a consultant to the Direct Investment Network. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Vanderbilt and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 

Vincent Hayes
Director of Member Develpoment

Vincent Hayes is the director of member development at Family Office Exchange (FOX). Vincent serves as the ambassador for FOX in reaching out to new members, promoting the networking and education benefits that come with FOX membership. He helps prospective members find ways to solve the challenges they face in running their family enterprises using resources available within FOX and its membership community.

Prior to joining FOX, Vincent spent 15 years in the investment world, most recently with AGN Futures, where he has served as Vice President of Sales and Operations since 2011. Previously, Vincent has worked at R.J. O’Brien & Associates, Global Forex Trading, and ZAP Futures.

Vincent is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.B.A. degree in Finance and minor in Accounting. He is based in Chicago.

 

Glen W. Johnson
Chief Operating Officer

Glen Johnson is Chief Operating Officer at Family Office Exchange (FOX). In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the member experience, ensuring that each family member, family office executive, and trusted advisor has an unsurpassed experience partnering with FOX by providing unique industry knowledge and insights coupled with a safe and confidential environment where members can share best practices. In addition, Glen oversees the operations of FOX and is charged with establishing and executing systems to execute FOX’s strategic plan, promoting its vision and service-centric culture, and enabling the FOX team to work together to exceed our member’s expectations.

Glen has over 30 years of experience working with business owners and executives, first as an attorney and then as a wealth advisor, eventually founding Mirador Family Wealth Advisors – the multi-family office for Fifth Third Bank. He has worked with business owners and executives across all stages of their business life cycle including business succession.  Glen writes and speaks nationally focusing on family and business governance and the unique challenges faced during the sale and transition of closely held businesses.   

Glen earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, MI.

Robin L. Letchinger, JD
Enterprise Family Market Leader

Robin Letchinger is the Enterprise Family Market Leader for FOX.  In her role, she develops and grows the Enterprise Family Center—a unique network of 100+ multi-generational families who strive to build and retain an enterprise family. Robin advises families on identifying opportunities and risks, allocating family capital, optimizing their governance structures, and educating the rising generations about life-long learning and leadership. 
 
Robin brings over 25 years of strategic problem-solving to FOX honed through her experiences as a General Counsel, Board Member and Compensation Committee Chair for a 4th generation family holding company, law firm partner serving family-owned businesses, and Director on various non-profit boards. She received her J.D. from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and her B.S. in Finance, with highest honors, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She also attended the Northwestern Kellogg Executive Education program on Governing Family Enterprises. She currently serves on the boards of Hoffberger Holdings, Inc., a 5th generation family holding company, and Open Communities, a non-profit organization focused on eradicating housing discrimination in Chicago’s northern suburbs. She was a two-term member of the Board of the Chicago Foundation for Women.

 

 

Patience Y. Marmer
Senior Relationship Manager

Patience Y. Marmer is a Senior Relationship Manager with Family Office Exchange (FOX). She works with family and advisor members to understand their objectives and provides guidance to help address their unique needs through the resources available at FOX.
 
Patience has been serving as a trusted advisor to ultra-wealthy individuals and family office clients for twenty years. In addition to her deep knowledge as a family office generalist, she is a trained valuer who brings expertise in the areas of insurance risk management, loss prevention, global fine art collection management, multi-estate management including farm and ranch.
 
Patience presently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Private Risk Managers Association and Lane 44, a charity providing film production training to the youth of Chicago’s South Side.  She served for three years on the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ship, the M/V Anastasis which brings surgical care to nations where access is limited.  She is an avid traveler, working-in and visiting forty-five nations and counting.  Patience studied fine art and history at the University of Illinois and The Art Institute of Chicago. 
 

Cary Nourie
Director, Direct Investing Network 

Cary is Director of the Direct Investing Network (DIN) at Family Office Exchange. In this role, Cary works with member families who are committed to direct investing - facilitating member connections for potential co-investment opportunities.  As Director he also serves as the manager for members involved in DIN, including the Deal Platform and the network of family office direct investment dinners. He works with member families who are committed to direct investing, seeking education on best practices, and facilitates deepening their knowledge on a multitude of direct investing issues.   
 
For more than 25 years, Cary has been a passionate venture capital investor and a driver of merger and acquisition deals, with extensive transaction management on both the buy and sell side. He co-founded three technology-based companies, effectively growing them to the point of significant exits. Cary has been a Board Director on many commercial enterprises, navigating companies through the day-to-day operations to drive top line sales and optimize bottom line profits and driving long-term strategic growth.   
 
Cary is a graduate of Ohio University and received his MA in International Affairs: Southeast Asia Studies/Technology Commercialization.

 

Miguel López de Silanes Gómez
Managing Director, Market Leader for Europe and Latin America

Miguel López de Silanes Gómez is the FOX Market Leader for Europe and Latin America. He is responsible for delivering FOX services to current members and also works actively to expand the network in Europe and Latin America.  His base is in Madrid, but he spends half of his time in Latin America. 

Miguel has most recently been director of the family office for one of Europe’s leading real estate families, with specific responsibility for designing and implementing the family’s investment strategy and for providing owner education to the younger family members.  

Previously, he worked at UBS Wealth Management in NY, Chile, and other locations in Latin America.  He began his career at Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant in London and Madrid.  He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid. 

 

Karen Rush
Managing Director, Membership

Karen Rush is Managing Director of the Family Office and Wealth Advisor Markets for Family Office Exchange (FOX).  Karen works with family and advisor members to understand their objectives, providing guidance to help address their needs through the resources available at FOX. She also co-chairs FOX Advisor Councils and assists in the development of new and enhanced service offerings for members. Formerly the events manager, she was responsible for planning all external FOX events, including forums, workshops and regional events.  

Prior to joining FOX in 2005, Karen spent 10 years at a large, multi-generational family office as the Communications Coordinator.  She worked directly with the family office and family members to develop a family meeting process and an education program for the younger generation.  

Karen received a B.A. in political science from Southern Illinois University. 

 

Bill Sullivan
President, Family Office Exchange

Bill Sullivan is the president of Family Office Exchange (FOX). He is a thought leader who understands the role that disruption and innovation will play in transforming our industry. He leads FOX in helping members to understand and plan for future transitions in the family enterprise, the family business, and the family office.

For the past 10 years, Bill has served as the Global Head of Financial Services Market Intelligence at Capgemini. He is a distinguished financial services executive consultant and trusted expert in his field with over 20 years of experience in many globally diverse roles including two years in Paris, France and three years in Hyderabad, India. Bill brings exceptional leadership skills with nearly two decades of leading multi-cultural teams in the U.S., Europe, & Asia-Pacific, as well as in his entrepreneurial background having successfully run his own start–up for three years.

He is a member of the Advisory Board of Ascent Private Capital Management (part of U.S. Bank), currently serves on the Zeta Beta Tau International Supreme Council, is an annual judge for the PWM/The Banker Global Private Banking Awards, and is a multiple recipient of Irish America Magazines Top 100 Business Leaders list.

Bill received a B.S. from Tufts University as a double major in Economics and Psychology.

 

David Toth
Managing Director, Family Office Exchange

David Toth is a Managing Director at Family Office Exchange (FOX). In his role, he constructs actionable insights and strategic analyses for family offices and wealth management advisor members. He developed a pathway of initiatives that assist family offices and wealth advisors in building pricing strategies, elevating client experience, talent management strategies and optimizing team structure, and achieving profitable growth. David has authored several reports including the recently-published study on the Transformation of the Ultra-Wealth Business. David serves as co-moderator of FOX’s Multi-Family Office (MFO) Council, Integrated Wealth Advisor (IWAC) Councils, and the Strategic CIO Council (SCIOC).
 
David brings over 30 years of wealth and investment management, marketing, and strategic
consulting experience to the FOX team. He held key leadership positions in the Asset Management Division at PNC Financial, formulating and implementing growth strategies that helped to more than double the size of their wealth and ultra-high net worth businesses.
 
David earned a B.B.A. majoring in Marketing and an M.B.A. majoring in Finance & Economics
from University of Michigan and the University of Detroit/Mercy, respectively. In addition, David
has completed Leadership and Executive Development programs at the University of
Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
