Randy Abeles
Partner, RSM US LLP

Randy Abeles is a Partner in the Private Client Services (PCS) practice of Great Lakes. Randy has national business development responsibilities for the PCS practice. He has 40 years of tax and personal financial planning experience. Randy is an MST, who advises senior executives, owners of highly successful privately held businesses and other significantly high-net-worth investors. He works extensively with high-net-worth individuals and families, service organizations and closely held companies, providing guidance through tax regulations. Randy is very experienced in a number of key areas of personal financial planning. He uses his knowledge as an individual tax specialist combined with his background in all areas of alternative investments to help high-net-worth individuals and families. Randy advises his clients regarding issues such as business succession, estate planning, charitable giving and intergenerational family wealth. Randy counsels his clients regarding all areas of asset protection. He incorporates many sophisticated asset protection strategies including the use of insurance, entity planning and the establishment of offshore trusts. Randy counsels his clients on all of their financial matters and helps them maximize their opportunities for growth while preserving wealth for future generations and charitable intentions. Randy’s expertise includes such projects as individual tax  preparation  for  high-net-worth individuals, due diligence on real estate investments for investors and providing partnerships with assistance on complex transactions. He structures new ventures and offers his significant experience in introducing clients to creative financing avenues. Randy also spends time working with family offices as one of the firms specialists in this area. 
 

Denny Boyle
Managing Director, SVB Capital

Denny Boyle joined SVB Capital in 2021 as a Managing Director responsible for sourcing and executing direct venture capital investments.  Denny brings nearly 15 years of experience working directly with Founders and the Venture community in his time with SVB’s Commercial Bank.  

Denny started his SVB career as a generalist in the Mid-Atlantic with some time in London, working with venture backed companies of all sizes and sectors.  Passionate about raising the global bar in financial services, in early 2014, Denny moved to the Bay Area to help start SVB’s National Fintech Banking practice.  In this capacity, Denny built a team and strategy to work with the burgeoning Fintech sector.  Denny’s responsibilities included Business Development and Relationship Management, Credit Innovation, Compliance and Risk Management, new Payments initiatives along with connecting the Fintech ecosystem with SVB’s strategic initiatives.  The National Fintech practice banks over 700 Series A+ companies and works with most of the US Fintech Unicorns and now publicly traded companies.  

Denny graduated magna cum laude from Lehigh University with a major in Finance and Information Systems, and a minor in History.   Denny lives in Princeton, NJ with his wife and 3 kids and is actively involved supporting many families, startups and non-profits involved in the Autism community.  
 

Bill Burkoth
Managing Partner, Life Sciences & Healthcare, SVB Capital

Bill Burkoth is a managing partner at SVB Capital, responsible for the Life Science and Healthcare Practice, bringing more than 20 years of life science venture capital (VC) investing and startup experience to the practice.

Before joining SVB Capital, Bill was an executive director in worldwide business development and a senior partner and founding member of Pfizer Ventures, the venture capital arm of Pfizer Inc. During his 17-year tenure with Pfizer Ventures, Bill sourced and led dozens of venture investments in life science companies across biotechnology, medical devices and tools and diagnostics. Bill played an instrumental role in numerous successful VC investments, including 4D Molecular Therapeutics (Nasdaq: FDMT), Avid Radiopharmaceuticals (acquired by Eli Lilly), Clovis Oncology (Nasdaq: CLVS), DVS Sciences (acquired by Fluidigm), Evolution Benefits (acquired by Genstar Capital), HandyLab (acquired by Becton Dickinson), NeuMoDx (acquired by QIAGEN) and Novocure (Nasdaq: NVCR). Additionally, he managed international investment partnerships in several overseas markets, including China, Brazil and Africa.

Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Whitman College and a master’s in business administration from Columbia University. 

Bill lives in the New York tri-state area with his wife and two sons.
 

Mandy Chardoul, CPA, MST, CFP®
Tax Partner | Family Office, Plante Moran

As a Tax Partner and a leader within Plante Moran’s Family Office Services Group, Mandy works closely with her clients to help them with their comprehensive planning needs.  Working with clients nationwide, Mandy is sought out by affluent families, family offices, and other professional advisors for her in-depth knowledge of estate, gift, and trust taxation.

Her technical strength comes from years of experience helping clients with strategy and execution as well as overseeing the filing of hundreds of large and complex 709 and 706 Gift Tax Returns. At a firm level, she serves on the front line of our National Tax Office studying emerging issues and providing guidance to tax leadership.  

Mandy is an active member of the Family Office Exchange and has given presentations on tax law changes to several law firms and professional associations throughout the country.      
 

Ed Drake, MSFP, AEP, CFP
Executive Managing Director, Baker Tilly US, LLP

Ed is a veteran wealth management and family business services leader. He focuses on designing, supporting and managing family offices and complex family enterprises across the country. Ed provides a range of services based on each family’s specific needs, including integrated family coaching, multi-generational estate planning, tax planning, business management, investment oversight, accounting and generational personal planning services.
 

Craig J. Duchossois
Executive Chair, The Duchossois Group, Inc.

Craig J. Duchossois is the Executive Chair of The Duchossois Group, Inc., a privately held, family business headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The principal operating companies are Chamberlain Group (garage door openers, gate operators and related access control products); Controlled Products Systems Group (perimeter access control systems); Systems, Inc. (loading dock levelers and equipment); and Duchossois Capital Management (the family’s private investment firm).  

Craig serves as an advisory board member for The Edgewater Funds, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and the Said Business School/University of Oxford.  His not-for-profit board memberships include Culver Educational Foundation, Illinois Institute of Technology, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and Trustee Emeritus for UChicago and UChicago Hospital. Additionally, he is a member of the Chief Executives’ Organization, World Presidents’ Organization, YPO Gold, Executives’ Club of Chicago, Economic Club and the Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago. Craig is a past-Chairman of the Board of Visitors for the United States Naval Academy.  He has also served on numerous public, private and ESOP boards.

Craig holds a BBA and MBA from Southern Methodist University. He served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968-1971.

He and his wife Janet have two children and five grandchildren.
 

Pierre S. duPont
Partner, Cerity Partners

Pierre is a private investor, a mentor to family-business owners, a semi-retired entrepreneur, and an advisor for businesses large and small. With his partners at Cerity Partners, he is also a wealth-strategy counsellor for individuals, tech entrepreneurs and business-owners with a particular focus on the impact of wealth upon future descendants. 

For ten years before that, Pierre invested personal capital in private companies in the US and Mainland China. Through the 90s and early 00s, he was an entrepreneur, co-founding five software companies resulting in 1.5 IPOs, one acquisition and some spectacular failures. 
After receiving his BScE from Princeton in 1982, Pierre started his career at Bolt, Beranek & Newman (BBN) as a research scientist and software engineer in computational linguistics, parallel processing, and statistical data analysis. 

Today he is focused on his business-owner and multigen-family advisory practices at Cerity Partners; working with other families on projecting their businesses, heritage and wealth to future descendants; and on supporting the various tech and non-tech companies he advises or on whose boards he sits. And he actively mentors younger and not-so-young business owners regarding their business growth strategies, and the intersection of business and family ownership.

Throughout his life, Pierre has lived with the challenges and the benefits of a 200-year heritage of family ownership of the longest-lived public company in the Dow Jones, and the more-immediate challenges and opportunities derived from family ownership today of one of the twenty largest private companies in America. 
 

John Dziminski
President, The Rosewood Corporation

John Dziminski is President and CEO of The Rosewood Corporation, the holding company owned by the Caroline Hunt Trust Estate, which owns and operates Rosewood Resources, Inc., Rosewood Property Company and Rosewood Private Investments. He joined Rosewood in 1998.

John also serves as President of Rosewood Trust Company, LTA, and the family office Rosewood Management Corporation or “RMC.” RMC’s principal responsibilities include management of passive investments and liquidity of the Caroline Hunt Trust Estate as well as management of personal assets and other trusts owned by family members.

John graduated from the University of Notre Dame, earned his CPA Certificate in Texas and began his career with KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick & Mitchell). 
 

Bruce Geier
Chief Executive Officer, RSM Investment Group, LLC

For nearly two decades, Bruce Geier has been a noteworthy leader in the family office space. As CEO of a private family office, Bruce engages with the family to grow and preserve their wealth, providing the guidance and support they need to manage their assets for future generations to come.

As a trusted private wealth advisor to the family members of RMS Investment Group, Bruce supports every aspect of their well-being. He has extensive experience in complex transactions and navigating elaborate financial markets. Bruce has been instrumental in creating the infrastructure of the office, the investment strategies and most importantly the culture of the company. Before becoming CEO, Bruce served as CFO of RMS Investment Group, focusing on high-level tax and accounting. During this time, he markedly enhanced the RMS portfolio and streamlined processes. Prior to his role as CFO, Bruce served as Director of Finance for MMC Health System in Pennsylvania. His career began in public accounting for a regional CPA firm, and he is a licensed CPA and CFP. Bruce earned his Bachelor of Administration in Accounting at Slippery Rock University.

Bruce resides in Aurora, Ohio with his wife and three children.
 

Matthew P. Grupp

Matthew P. Grupp is the President & CEO of Grupp Organization LLC, and its affiliated entities, to include The Grupp Law Firm LLC, Grupp Fiduciary Services LLC, Grupp Financial LLC, and Grupp Digital LLC. Collectively, the mission of the Grupp enterprise of companies is to enable families to flourish by providing professional services and infrastructure to support family enterprises.

Matthew’s activities over the years have ranged from designing and implementing tax strategies for corporate acquisitions, dispositions, spin-offs, joint ventures, financings, reorganizations & restructurings for many leading Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms at Deloitte, estate tax planning and structuring in private practice, private family trust company administration, and administration of a multi-family office that leverages our proprietary Entole™ technology infrastructure that leverages our experience and FOX’s research to support both the strategic and day-to-day needs of family offices.

Matthew earned a B.A. with Dual Majors: Classical Languages (in Greek & Latin) and Philosophy from the University of Montana, a J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law, and an LL.M. (in Taxation) from the New York University School of Law. He is a member of the bars of Idaho, New York, and Wyoming.

Matthew and Carole (his high school sweetheart) reside just south of Jackson Hole and are the proud parents of eleven children and two grandchildren.  Several of the children are active in various capacities within the Grupp enterprise of companies.
 

Josh Kanter
President, Chicago Financial, Inc., and Director and Vice President, Kanter Family Foundation

Josh is President of Chicago Financial, Inc., a single-family office, and is a Director and Vice President of the Kanter Family Foundation. 

For outside clients, Josh provides thoughtful, personalized multi‐generational family, business and legal wealth advisory services including family meeting design and facilitation, family and business structuring, family governance, family office design, trust, estate and tax planning, risk mitigation, “blind spot” review, philanthropy, and more. An outgrowth of this work for his own family and his clients is the recent founding and development of leafplanner – a tool to develop a personalized family owner’s manual. leafplanner is a comprehensive solution to bring the deliberateness of a family office to a family’s organization, education, communication, and decision-making.

Josh has been a board member, committee member, or otherwise involved with Roland Hall, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Temple Har Shalom, the University of Chicago Law School, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Governor Huntsman’s Utah Methamphetamine Joint Task Force Subcommittee on Public Awareness, the Corroon for Governor Campaign, various public art projects, and more. Josh is a recipient of a Heart and Hands Award from the Utah Nonprofits Association, and was named to the Community Foundation of Utah’s E-5-0, an annual selection of 50 “enlightened entrepreneurs.” Josh has been a frequent speaker and panelist on family, family office, political, economic, and philanthropic topics.

Josh received his J.D. from the University of Chicago in 1987. He earned a BA/BS in Economics (magna cum laude) and Political Science from Emory University in 1984.
 

Charles Roy Kelley, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A.
Chairman of the Board, Seaside Ohana Investments, Inc. 

Charles Roy Kelley, M.D., MPH, MBA, is chairman of the Board at Seaside Ohana Investments, Inc., a private family office and new legacy company formed after the year 2016 sale of the family’s long-held hotel operating company Outrigger Enterprises Group.  Prior to joining the family business, he worked as a physician, specializing in Occupational Medicine and Internal Medicine. In addition to his medical training, he has earned an MBA from Chaminade University of Honolulu. He currently serves on multiple non-profit board including Kahala Nui Senior Living and the Friends of Waikiki Aquarium.  He is married to Jennifer Kelley, M.D., and they have two children and two grandchildren. His interests include water sports, marine biology, tennis, gardening and chainsaw woodcarving.
 

Rob Mallernee
CEO, Eton Solutions 

With 30+ years of experience in ultra-high net worth wealth management, Rob co-founded and led Eton Advisors, the highly successful multi-Family Office that initially developed the AtlasFive platform. Rob’s passion for systems development and client service led him to establish Eton Solutions as a technology and services provider to the ultra-high net worth office.

Prior to Eton, Rob held key roles at the UBS Multi-Family Office Group, the Private Asset Management Group at NC Trust Company, Arthur Andersen, and Price Waterhouse.
 

Joanna Gordon Martin
Founder and CEO, Theia Senior Solutions

Joanna Gordon Martin has spent years as a respected entrepreneur, investor and biotech industry executive. She has held senior leadership positions at Celgene Corporation, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, and has been called on by venture capital and private equity firms to run biotech firms in need of operational leadership. She founded Theia Senior Solutions to meet the needs of clients she understands well: adult children facing the decline of a parent’s health and cognitive function, while at the peak of their own career and family obligations. Michael Moody, Ph.D.
Frey Foundation Chair for Family Philanthropy

Michael Moody is the Frey Foundation Chair for Family Philanthropy at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University. In this role, he works to expand both the practice and the public understanding of family philanthropy. Trained as a cultural sociologist, with a Ph.D. from Princeton, Dr. Moody is co-author of the books Understanding Philanthropy: Its Meaning and Mission, The Philanthropy Reader, and Generation Impact: How Next Gen Donors Are Revolutionizing Giving. He is a frequent speaker and sought-after commentator on
philanthropic trends whose work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Forbes, Chronicle of Philanthropy, Stanford Social Innovation Review, and many others.
 

Arden O'Connor
Founder, O'Connor Professional Group

Arden O’Connor founded the O’Connor Professional Group to address the needs of families and individuals struggling with an array of behavioral health issues, including addiction, mental health disorders, eating disorders, learning, and other developmental challenges. With several relatives in recovery, Arden is passionate about helping families and individuals navigate the highly fragmented treatment system in a way that creates positive outcomes and allows families to heal.

Arden is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School. Jennifer Remondino
Chair, Trusts and Estates Practice Group, Warner Norcross + Judd LLP 

Jennifer Remondino is a partner with the law firm of Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, and she serves as Chair of the firm’s Trusts and Estates practice group. She specializes in sophisticated tax planning, charitable giving and foundations, estate and gift tax audits, formation and operation of family offices, trust and estate administration, family and business governance agreements, and business succession planning. Jennifer designs customized wealth education programs with creative and engaging activities to help families prepare their next generations to steward family wealth.  
 
Jennifer is the Executive Partner of Warner’s Holland Office and a member of the firm’s Private Client and Family Office Practice’s Steering Committee. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Jennifer has been named as a Michigan Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine, and recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Closely Held Company, Family Business Law and Trusts and Estates. She has been named three times to the Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty which recognizes the area’s top business leaders, and she was also named to their 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan list.
 

Jennifer Risher
Author of We need to Talk: A Memoir About Wealth

Jennifer Risher is on a mission to move money out of the taboo category and help us have much-needed conversations about the emotional side of money. Her book, We Need to Talk: A Memoir About Wealth tells her story and explores the impact of wealth on identity, relationships, and sense of place in the world. Jennifer was born in Seattle, Washington, grew up in Oregon, and graduated from Connecticut College. In 1991, she joined Microsoft where she worked as a recruiter and then as a product manager. She and her husband, David, have two daughters and live in San Francisco, where David is CEO of Worldreader, a nonprofit he cofounded to create a world where everyone is a reader. Last year, in response to COIVD, Jennifer and David launched the #HalfMyDAF challenge which inspired over $8.6 million in charitable giving.
 

Carl Robinson, Ph.D.
Founding Partner, Vantage Leadership

Dr. Robinson heads Vantage’s Family Business Practice and has focused much of his career on senior-level succession planning and coaching. Consulting at this level requires a deep appreciation for organizational, political, and family dynamics, and Dr. Robinson matches his considerable perspective in this regard with well-grounded insights into individual change and development.

Licensed as a clinical psychologist in 1988, Dr. Robinson’s years of training and counseling shape his approach when consulting for and working with family held enterprises. He has consulted extensively for numerous families as they managed significant transitions across generations. Dr. Robinson also advises organizations currently led by family members--helping them identify and align leadership direction and strategy. His clientele is broad and farreaching.

Dr. Robinson has authored a number of articles and has frequently been interviewed by various business publications, including the Wall Street Journal. In addition, he is a highly regarded public speaker with an engaging and energetic style. He and his wife Karen reside in Chicago, Illinois. They have two grown children who live on opposite coasts, which gives them plenty of reasons to indulge their passion for travel.

Mindy Kalinowski Earley, CMP, CFBA 
Chief Learning Officer, FOX Family Learning CenterTM 

Mindy Kalinowski Earley is Chief Learning Officer for Family Office Exchange (FOX). In her role, she fosters integrated learning programs for enterprise families and is responsible for developing the family learning community. She co-chairs the FOX Rising Gen program and serves as an outsourced Chief Learning Office to FOX members. Mindy is inspired by helping people learn, grow, and discover how they will make personal and productive contributions, using their strengths and talents.

Mindy has held various roles in small and large family offices and has been responsible for creating and stewarding professional learning networks supporting human and intellectual capital. She has designed learning experiences that increase the knowledge base and enhance the life path of individuals while providing personalized support and coaching to help them meet their goals. As a Strong Interest Inventory facilitator with a certificate in Family Business Advising, she enjoys helping families and rising generation members navigate the unique world of family enterprise and family relationships by understanding that responsibility and intention pave a path to personal achievement and satisfaction. She has been featured in the New York Times, Family Business Magazine, Successful Generations podcast and is a regular speaker and facilitator. Mindy lives in Rockford, MI, with her husband, daughter, and Bernedoodle.
 

Miguel López de Silanes Gómez
Market Leader, Europe and Latin America

Miguel López de Silanes Gómez is the Managing Director for International Members at Family Office Exchange (FOX). He is responsible for delivering FOX services to current members, and actively works to expand the network in Europe and Latin America.

Miguel has most recently been director of the family office for one of Europe’s leading real estate families, with specific responsibility for designing and implementing the family’s investment strategy and for providing owner education to the younger family members. 

Previously, he worked at UBS Wealth Management in New York, Chile, and other locations in Latin America. He began his career at Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant in London and Madrid. He has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid.
 

Gaby Griffin
Market Leader, Business Owners and Family Office Executives

Gaby Griffin is the Market Leader for Business Owners and Family Office Executives at FOX. In her role, Gaby leads the overall Family Office Council experience and manages multiple councils. She provides members the opportunities to learn from and share ideas with highly accomplished and hard-to-find peers in a confidential environment. No matter what hat she’s wearing, her goal is simple – to create value for families by providing objective guidance and timely relevant information in order to make informed decisions. Gaby takes a very personalized approach to her relationship management practice and has built client and advisory relationships that span over two decades. She also serves as a member of the FOX leadership team.

Gaby brings 25 years of wealth management, corporate banking, investment, and strategic advisory experience to FOX and its members. Gaby recently joined FOX from Capital Group. Prior to that, she held leadership positions at LaSalle Bank NA advising business owners, their families and family offices, as well as working directly with ultra-high net worth clients as a relationship manager for Abbot Downing. Gaby has been involved with the FOX community for over 20 years.

Gaby earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She obtained a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) designation at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2013. She is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council (CEPC), Women Investment Professionals, 100 Women in Finance, DyMynd Angels, and Urban Land Institute (ULI). Gaby served on the Board of Trustees for Victory Gardens Theater from 2012-2020. Additionally, she has held several other positions in the non-profit sector.
 

Sara Hamilton
Founder and Board Chair

Founder and Board Chair of Family Office Exchange (FOX), Sara is a recognized visionary in the private wealth community. While a trust officer at Harris Bank in Chicago in the late 1980s, Sara witnessed the emergence of family wealth management as an industry. Hundreds of U.S. families became centi-millionaires overnight through leveraged buyouts that spawned private financial offices commonly called family offices, to manage family assets and educate wealth owners. Sara was the first professional to recognize family offices as a complex market segment in wealth management.

Sara founded the Family Office Exchange (FOX) in 1989 as a peer network for family office executives. Within 10 years, FOX could see that families needed help with their enterprise vision and managing financial transitions. As a result, FOX evolved into a strategist for family enterprises, a platform for sharing family wealth best practices, and an industry advocate for the importance of private capital in a global economy.

Today, Sara provides strategic direction for FOX and leads the development of new programs and services supporting family enterprises, family office executives and wealth advisory firms in more than 20 countries. She was named one of the Top 50 Women in Wealth Management by Wealth Manager from 2010-2012 and 2019 Outstanding Thought Leader for Wealth Management by Family Wealth Report.

Sara is the co-author of Family Legacy and Leadership: Preserving True Family Wealth in Challenging Times and serves on the executive education faculty of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where she is an adjunct faculty member for their Private Wealth Management course, offered twice per year in Chicago. She is on the founding boards for the Private Directors Association in Chicago and the Foundation for Gender Equality in New York.

FOX has built a unique resource team dedicated to serving multi-generational families, led by 15 technical experts who are supported by a dedicated team of 20 additional employees based in Chicago, New York, and Madrid.
 

Glen W. Johnson
President of Membership

Glen W. Johnson is President of Membership at Family Office Exchange (FOX). In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the member experience, ensuring that each family member, family office executive, and trusted advisor has an unsurpassed experience partnering with FOX by providing unique industry knowledge and insights coupled with a safe and confidential environment where members can share best practices. In addition, Glen oversees the operations of FOX and is charged with establishing and executing systems to execute FOX’s strategic plan, promoting its vision and service-centric culture, and enabling the FOX team to work together to exceed our member’s expectations.

Glen has over 30 years of experience working with family offices, business owners, and executives, first as an attorney and then as a wealth advisor, eventually founding Mirador Family Wealth Advisors – the multi-family office for Fifth Third Bank. He has worked with business owners and executives across all stages of their business life cycle including business succession.  Glen writes and speaks nationally focusing on family and business governance and the unique challenges faced during the sale and transition of closely held businesses.

Glen earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, MI.
 

Allison Lawshe
Learning Center Coordinator

Allison Lawshe is the Learning Center Coordinator at the Family Office Exchange. As a FOX Learning Center team member, she supports the  delivery of learning programs and content for families, family office staff and advisors. Allison brings ten years of family foundation experience to the role, most recently as Chief Program Officer at the IDP Foundation, Inc., where she led the international education portfolio and scaling of training and financing program to over 600 schools across Ghana. 
 
Allison has an MPP from the University of Chicago, a BA in Economics and Latin American, Caribbean & Iberian Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a Professional Certified Coach.
 

Kent Lawson
Director, Technology Integration Services

Kent Lawson is Director of Technology Integration Services at Family Office Exchange (FOX). With 25 years of experience as a leader in the wealth management industry, and a deep focus in technology for the family office, Kent’s expertise in consulting, project management, analysis, and diligence around technology drives the FOX Technology Marketplace.

Prior to joining FOX, Kent had an established relationship with FOX as a market leader and as a member. Through his previous role with an enterprise family office and as a contributor to FOX forums, Kent brings over a decade of experience serving at the executive level within a single family office. His expertise in wealth management spans a variety of disciplines, including investment operations, technology, and compliance via working with RIAs, the SEC, and Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS). He also served as a business analyst and consultant for Advent Software, as COO of a trust company, and other technology solution vendors. Kent also founded an outsource COO firm in the wealth management industry providing strategic leadership as a trusted advisor.

With a degree in Music Performance from Ball State University, Kent spent his early years performing as a jazz saxophonist and married another musician, which led him to his “day job” within the wealth industry as a part-time file clerk with an RIA. His background in creativity and thinking outside the box provided the foundation needed for designing innovative solutions in business process and technology making him perfectly suited for the family office industry.
 

Hilary Leav
Director, Insights & Research

Hilary Leav is the Director of Insights and Research for FOX. In her role, she oversees FOX’s efforts to effectively use data, analysis, and insights to support members and further industry understanding of the unique needs of family offices.

Hilary brings over ten years of research, evaluation, and analysis experience in leadership positions to her work at FOX. Her most recent work centers on building capacity for data usage and creating and sharing actionable information and insights that can drive strategy development, improve efficiency, and increase shared understanding of complex issues. Additionally, Hilary has extensive international experience and has previously worked in operations, strategy development, process improvement, and grants management in both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Hilary holds her B.A. from the University of Michigan. She received her M.S. in Measurement and Evaluation from American University in Washington, D.C.
 

Peter Moustakerski
CEO

Peter Moustakerski is CEO of Family Office Exchange (FOX), the premier resource for families managing private enterprises and family wealth across generations. For over 30 years, FOX has been recognized as the industry’s most exclusive, innovative, and influential community for peer networking and learning, and has provided independent insights, expert guidance, and practical solutions to complex problems related to family transitions and family wealth.

Peter has spent more than 25 years as a C-level strategist and executive across a variety of industries, including wealth management, capital markets, and technology. He is a former family office executive and FOX member, management consultant, and entrepreneur. He has served as a strategy, innovation, and growth leader for a number of private and public companies and founded two start-ups in New York City and China.

Prior to joining FOX, Peter served as Chief Operating Officer of the family office of the founder of Bridgewater Associates, where he worked closely with the principal family members to envision and oversee the redesign of the family office strategy and day-to-day operations to better serve the evolving needs of the family. Before that, Peter was a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, advising many of the world’s top C-suite leaders, and a strategy executive at UBS, leading all growth and transformation initiatives for the bank’s wealth management organization.

Most recently, Peter was Chief Strategy Officer of News America Marketing, a former News Corp. subsidiary, where he built and led the Corporate Strategy and M&A function and led the company’s successful carve-out and sale to a private equity sponsor. In addition, for more than 20 years, Peter has been a contributing writer and researcher with The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), and has led many qualitative and quantitative research projects, and written a number of influential white papers for the EIU, NBER, and other research institutions and media publications.

Peter holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University in China, and is proficient in Mandarin, Russian, and Bulgarian.
 

Jeff Strese
Family Learning & Leadership Consultant

Jeff Strese is the Family Learning & Leadership Consultant at Family Office Exchange (FOX). As a consultant, Jeff has focused on multi-generational family enterprises, corporations, and mission-driven nonprofit organizations. He has more than 25 years of experience working across industries in the areas of leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and family dynamics. He holds certifications in family wealth and family business advising (CFWA, CFBA).

Jeff is passionate about helping family businesses and organizations create clarity out of the complex and inspiring leaders from all backgrounds to develop and master critical skills like coaching, communication and emotional intelligence. He has developed innovative programs to guide next-generation leaders to reach their full potential in a fast-paced, global economy.

Jeff has served as Chief Talent and Learning Officer (CTLO) at Tolleson Wealth Management, a multi-family office serving client families across the country. Prior to his role at Tolleson, Jeff served as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Southern Methodist University (SMU).
 

Jonathan S. Tunner
Director, Private Investment Opportunities

Jonathan Tunner is the Director of Private Investment Opportunities at Family Office Exchange (FOX). Jonathan serves as a relationship manager and thought leader helping to develop and execute strategies designed to meet the needs of families across all markets active in direct investing. In his role, Jonathan builds and supports the strategic network of families who desire to share their industry expertise and to collaborate with others to acquire interests in companies and/or real estate. In addition, he oversees the Direct Investing Network (DIN), is a member of the FOX leadership team, and is the Co-Chair of the Owner/Operator Council.

Jonathan brings over twenty-five years of broad business, direct investment, and family office experience to FOX and its members. Jonathan started his career in the international coal industry working in the US, Latin America and Europe for Massey Energy. Jonathan transitioned to oversee daily management of a complex, inter-generational family office. As CFO, Jonathan had senior financial, wealth, and management responsibilities with particular emphasis on sourcing, structuring, funding, overseeing and exiting privately held businesses and real estate interests across a spectrum of sizes and industries. Jonathan also held extensive operational and executive duties within portfolio companies including CEO, CFO and COO, while also serving on numerous boards. Most recently, Jonathan was CEO of Constellation Partners; a business performance consultancy providing strategy, leadership and business intelligence related services to drive enterprise value in lower and middle market businesses.

Jonathan earned a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College majoring in Spanish and minoring in Economics and History, and an M.B.A. majoring in Finance from the University of Richmond.
 

Scott Winget
Enterprise Market Leader

Scott Winget is the Enterprise Market Leader at Family Office Exchange (FOX). In his role, Scott serves as Co-Chair for Enterprise Councils and Executive Councils, where members can share experiences, ideas, and best practices with veteran peers in a confidential environment. Scott also serves as relationship manager for Enterprise Family members, in order to understand their unique needs and provide them with access to important research and objective guidance. He is as a member of the FOX leadership team, helping to develop and execute service strategies designed to meet the needs of his market segment, and also participates in new research and thought leadership meaningful to members.

Serving families for over 25 years in the areas or family office, wealth management and estate and tax planning, Scott brings significant experience to FOX and its members. Prior to joining FOX, Scott created and led multi-disciplinary and award-winning consulting groups that provided comprehensive family office services at both Cresset and Ascent Private Capital Management. Earlier, he was a senior wealth planner at Wells Fargo Family Wealth (later, Abbot Downing) and began his career as an income tax and estate planning specialist with Arthur Andersen and EY. Scott has participated in the FOX community for over 15 years.

Scott is a CPA and holds a J.D. from The Ohio State University, where he also earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a dual major in Accounting and Finance. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council, Colorado Society of CPAs and the Colorado Bar Association. He has also held several securities and insurance licenses and served on the board of the Mountain Area Land Trust as Treasurer and head of the Finance Committee among other roles with non-profits.
