Susan R. Colpitts
Founder, Chief of Client Experience, Signature Family Wealth Advisors

Susan R. Colpitts is a Founder of Signature Family Wealth Advisors and leads the Client Services Team as the Chief of Client Experience. She is an expert in the technical areas of financial, tax, trust, and estate planning, and is particularly interested in working with clients to create meaningful philanthropic strategies that match their passions and financial resources with appropriate planning structures.

Ms. Colpitts has received various national recognitions for her accomplishments, including Research Magazine’s Advisor Hall of Fame, the United Way of South Hampton Roads’ Volunteer of the Year, and the YWCA of South Hampton Roads’ honor as a Woman of Distinction.

Ms. Colpitts is actively involved in her community, engaging in volunteer activities which include being a Director of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation; Vice-Chair of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities; Trustee of the Eastern Virginia Medical School Foundation; Board member of Building Goodness Foundation; and past Chair of the United Way of South Hampton Roads.

Laura Daley
Senior Consultant, Paravis Partners

Laura Daley brings proven expertise in leadership coaching, team effectiveness, and strategy implementation. With more than 20 years in business and management, her background includes deep experience in management consulting and human capital development.  She honed her business acumen while operating as a consultant and manager across a breadth of industries including pharmaceuticals, executive search, private equity, media, banking, leadership services, and consumer goods.

As a coach and consultant, she has worked with senior and high potential leaders in a variety of business settings, including start-ups, multi-divisional corporations and global nonprofits. She has coached executives on effective communication, strategic leadership, and team management skills.

Direct and empathetic, Ms. Daley combines practical business perspective and appreciation for the challenges leaders face as they develop new ways of working and thinking to achieve their goals. Clients describe her as firm but caring, structured but flexible, pragmatic and a great listener.  

Prior to her work as a leadership coach and consultant, Ms. Daley was a Vice President at Spencer Stuart, a leading global executive search firm, and before that she helped create one of the premiere coaching firms, now the Goodstone Group. It was there that she identified and began pursuing her passion for talent management and leadership development. Earlier in her career, Ms. Daley spent a decade as a management consultant for top firms serving clients in North America and Europe such CIBC, Elf Atochem, Netcentives, Pfizer, Prudential Banking plc, Safety Clean, Unilever, and Wells Fargo. She has worked with colleagues and clients across 30 countries.

Ms. Daley holds an M.B.A. from The Anderson School at UCLA and a B.A. with distinction from Cornell University. Additionally, she has studied at Université de Genève, Institut de Hautes Etudes Internationales, and HEC/ISA. She is a certified executive coach from the Hudson Institute of Coaching in Santa Barbara.

Mark Galante
President | Northeast Zone & Strategic Alliances, PURE Insurance

Mr. Mark Galante has more than two decades of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, the majority of which has been spent in the high net worth niche. A member of PURE’s Executive Committee, Mr. Galante has served in a variety of leadership roles at PURE and has been an influential voice on the strategy of the company. In his current role, he oversees all of PURE’s business operations in the Northeast (one of PURE’s three geographic zones), as well as the management and development national strategic alliances that help generate profitable growth. In his prior role as Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Galante’s team helped contribute to a seven-fold increase in premium revenues by supporting PURE’s launch in dozens of new states with various advertising and public relations campaigns, rebranding the company and its website, introducing various tools to help PURE’s broker partners acquire new clients, and forming a member engagement practice.

Mr. Galante began his career at Chubb & Son as a trainee and progressed into a variety of management roles in strategic marketing and field operations within the personal insurance business unit. He later served as Vice President for Personal Lines Marketing & Distribution at The Hanover Insurance Group prior to joining PURE. A graduate of Gettysburg College, he obtained an M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

James Grubman, PhD
Family Wealth Consulting

Dr. Jim Grubman is a consultant to multigenerational families and their advisors about the issues that arise around wealth. He helps families establish healthy patterns of communication, governance, and parenting for succeeding generations. He is the author of the renowned book, Strangers in Paradise: How Families Adapt to Wealth Across Generations, and co-author (with Dennis T. Jaffe, Ph.D.) of Cross Cultures: How Global Families Navigate Change Across Generations. He has been published widely and quoted extensively by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNBC, and other media, including Malcolm Gladwell’s 2013 book, David and Goliath.  

Dr. Grubman holds Fellow status in the Family Firm Institute and the Purposeful Planning Institute, and he is a member of several U.S. and international estate planning organizations. He maintains specialty interests in neuropsychology and legal issues impacting wealth management. His global consulting practice, Family Wealth Consulting, is based in Massachusetts.

Kayla Kennelly
Vice President, Business Development, BNY Mellon │Pershing

Kayla Kennelly is a Vice President and a Business Development Officer at BNY Mellon’s Pershing Advisor Solutions, responsible for business development among Registered Investment Advisors and Family Offices in the tri-state area. She is also responsible for consulting on the technology needs of Pershing Advisor Solutions clients. Prior to joining Pershing Advisor Solutions, she was an Account Manager in Pershing’s Prime Services unit, responsible for day-to-day support for hedge funds and ’40 Act funds. Ms. Kennelly joined Pershing in 2011 as a member of the Corporate Trainee Program.

Outside of her day-to-day responsibilities, Ms. Kennelly is passionate about engaging the next generation. She co-founded Pershing’s Reverse Mentoring Program, Connect, in 2013 with the goal of leveraging emerging talent to help shape the future of the firm. The program pairs employees from the Millennial generation with members of Pershing’s executive committee as mentors, to provide generational insights and help to bridge the generational gap. She is also a member of Pershing’s “Adopt a School” team, which aims to inspire advisors to support a personal finance course in their local high school.   

Ms. Kennelly holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and minor in Economics from Iona College Hagan School of Business.

Jamie Kieffer
Managing Director, Client Strategy, Edelman

Jamie Kieffer, Managing Director of Client Strategy in Edelman’s Chicago office, is a seasoned marketer with over 25 years of experience spanning advertising, digital marketing, social media and PR.

Mr. Kieffer began his career with 16 years at Leo Burnett, leading teams developing integrated brand, marketing and advertising campaigns for a wide range of blue chip global clients, in technology, consumer goods and education.  He also served in the corporate strategy group of the firm, driving strategic communications around its acquisition by Publicis Groupe.

From 2008-2015, Mr. Kieffer served in two chief marketing officer roles, gaining valuable client-side marketing and investor relations experience.  On the management team of publicly-traded RC2 Brands, he guided the company through an acquisition and integration by TOMY, and at SteelSeries, he helped drive consecutive years of 25%+ YOY growth in a PE-funded environment.

David Lake
Vice President, BNY Mellon │Pershing

David Lake is a Vice President at BNY Mellon’s Pershing. As a project manager in the technology team, he oversees the team that creates interactive reporting and analytics tools. Mr. Lake joined BNY Mellon’s Pershing in 2014.  Prior to joining Pershing, he completed an internship at a medical device company, HeartWare.

Mr. Lake is a co-founder of the Techmill group, which is a group of Millennials within the technology team who work to make Pershing a better place to work. He is also one of the leaders of Pershing’s Agile initiative, which aims to streamline and modernize Pershing’s development processes. Mr. Lake is a participant in Pershing’s Reverse Mentoring Program, which pairs a Millennial with a member of Pershing’s executive committee to provide inter-generational insights.  

Mr. Lake holds a Bachelor of Applied Psychology from Champlain College and a Master’s Degree in Technology and Management from New York University.

Katie Spring
General Manager, Financial Communications, Edelman

Katie Spring is General Manager of Financial Communications and works with global banks, asset managers, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, REITs, private equity and hedge funds. Her team also provides special situation counsel and investor relations for clients across industries, including aerospace, consumer products, and healthcare.

Ms. Spring was the Chief Communications Officer at Citadel, one of the largest and most successful hedge funds in the world. She was Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at USAA, a top-rated financial services company serving 12 million members globally. Ms. Spring was spokesperson for the Chicago Board of Trade, and a Congressional Fellow for Senator Richard Lugar in Washington, D.C. Early in her career, she worked in television and newspapers.

Ms. Spring is a member of the Arthur Page Society, the Economic Club of Chicago, and the Chicago Club. She is a Trustee with the Chicago Humanities Festival and a member of the Business Leadership Council at Wellesley College. She founded Her Estate, a strategic networking group that provides exclusive events, resources and leadership opportunities for executive women.  Recognized by PR Week as a “40 Under 40,” Katie graduated from Wellesley College and received her M.B.A. from Notre Dame.

Robert Stanich
Global Banking and Financial Markets, IBM Watson Financial Services

A digital native, lifetime learner, and futurist with more than 20 years financial markets and technology industry experience, Rob Stanich has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams in environments of change and complexity, helping firms envision their futures, choose prudent courses of action, execute on business and technology transformation in a variety of roles.

As Offering Manager covering Financial Markets and Banking with IBM Watson Financial Services, Rob Stanich leads an internal fintech start-up business that creates cloud-based AI and analytics-based solutions for financial institutions. In that role, he is responsible for defining, developing and delivering offerings through collaboration with cross-functional teams on development, design, marketing, communications, sales, and client success.

Mr. Stanich holds an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor's in International Studies from the American University. He has served as an adviser to industry groups including SIFMA's Operations and Technology Steering Committee (OTSC) and the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) Board's Digital Advice Working Group.

James C. Trainor
Senior Vice President, Aon Cyber Solutions

James C. Trainor is Senior Vice President within Aon’s Cyber Solutions Group. Mr. Trainor joined Aon in October 2016 after a distinguished career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he most recently led the Cyber Division at FBI Headquarters.

Mr. Trainor played a critical role in devising the FBI’s national strategy to combat cyber-crime and was the senior FBI executive responsible for all cyber investigations. During his three year tenure in the Cyber Division, Mr. Trainor led FBI Agents and Analysts in every major high-profile cyber investigation involving the FBI.

In his new role, Mr. Trainor will help shape Aon’s overall cyber strategy on behalf of clients, working closely with colleagues across technology, system integration, risk transfer and advisory to ensure a holistic and integrated approach.

Mr. Trainor joined the FBI as a Special Agent in 1996. Over his twenty year FBI career, he served in both overseas and domestic assignments focused on cyber, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, intelligence, and criminal matters. He has served in field assignments in Chicago; New Haven, CT; Boston; New York City; and at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Trainor is a graduate of Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Connecticut. He also completed a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Certificate Program at Carnegie Mellon University, and has GIAC certifications in GISP, GSLC and GISF.

Mr. Trainor is the recipient of the 2016 Presidential Rank Award, the 2016 FCW Federal 100 in Information Technology, and was recognized by Security Magazine in 2017 as Most Influential in Security.

Alexandre Monnier
President, Family Office Exchange

 

Alexandre Monnier is President of Family Office Exchange (FOX), a global organization that helps wealthy families and their advisors master the unique challenges inherent to wealth ownership. FOX’s support includes networking opportunities, knowledge, advice and education on key topics such as managing wealth, family governance, legacy, succession and best practices for running family offices.

Mr. Monnier oversees FOX globally and has extensive experience in creating, marketing, and delivering premium services to families of wealth in the wealth management, private aviation and healthcare industries—both in the US and internationally.

He joined FOX from PinnacleCare, a leader in private health advisory services, where he led the development of the business in the U.S. and in Europe. Earlier, Mr. Monnier ran Skyjet, Bombardier Aerospace’s private jet charter business, transforming the business from an emerging player to a leading private jet travel provider.

Previously, Mr. Monnier spent 10 years as a management consultant serving some of the most widely recognized firms in the U.S. and Europe on issues ranging from strategy to operational and organizational effectiveness. He started his career in finance with Societe Generale.

Alexandre is a graduate of ESCP Europe, one of Europe’s leading business schools. He has been a
member of Young Presidents’ Organization since 2005.
 

David F. Toth
Managing Director, Family Office Exchange

David Toth is a Managing Director at FOX. In his role, he harnesses proprietary and non-proprietary research to develop actionable insights and perform strategic analyses for family offices and wealth management advisor members. Assignments include constructing a pathway of initiatives that assist family offices and wealth advisors in building pricing strategies, elevating client experience, talent management strategies and optimizing team structure and achieving profitable growth. Mr. Toth has authored research reports including Creating Memorable Client Experiences, The Value/Price Relationship, Strengthening the Partnership Between Families and Advisors, and most recently, The Shifting Talent Paradigm. He serves as co-moderator of FOX’s Multi-Family Office (MFO) and Integrated Wealth Advisor (IWAC) Councils.

Mr. Toth brings over thirty years of wealth and investment management, marketing, and strategic consulting experience to FOX and its members. Over the past fourteen years he has held key leadership positions in the Asset Management Division at PNC Financial, formulating and implementing growth strategies that helped to more-than-double the size of their wealth and ultra-HNW businesses. Mr. Toth has played a lead role in the wealth industry through his work on client satisfaction/loyalty improvements to both the client and advisor experience, pricing strategies, development of new investment products and approaches, and the launch of Wealth Insight® an award-winning blend of technology and advisor/client interaction.

Mr. Toth earned a B.B.A. majoring in Marketing and an M.B.A. majoring in Finance & Economics from University of Michigan and the University of Detroit/Mercy, respectively. In addition, he has completed Leadership and Executive Development programs at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
