Adam Braun
Founder, Pencils of Promise

Adam Braun is a New York Times bestselling author and the Founder of Pencils of Promise, an award-winning organization that has broken ground on more than 200 schools around the world. In recent years he has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, Wired Magazine’s “50 People Who Are Changing the World,” and was selected as one of the World Economic Forum’s first ten Global Shapers. Braun began working summers at hedge funds when he was just sixteen years old, sprinting down the path to a successful Wall Street career. He started his college career as a Division 1 basketball player, but while traveling abroad he met a young boy begging on the streets of India. When Braun asked him what he wanted most in the world, he simply answered, “a pencil.”

Brad R. Balter
CFA, Chief Executive Officer & Portfolio Manager

Brad has experience in the financial services industry beginning in 1992. He is managing partner and founder of both Balter Capital Management (BCM) and Balter Liquid Alternatives (BLA). At Balter Liquid Alternatives, Brad is responsible for managing the firm's mutual fund products and setting the strategic direction of the mutual fund company. He is also a portfolio manager of the Balter Long Short Equity Fund. Prior to forming Balter Capital Management in 2006, Brad was a Managing Director, Institutional Investor Group at Citigroup Global Markets where he held primary responsibility for multi-strategy hedge fund relationships from 2002-2005. From 1992 to 2001 Brad was with PaineWebber Inc. (and subsequently UBS) where he was a leading member of the firms middle markets hedge fund coverage program with primary responsibility for early stage hedge fund relationships. He is a graduate of Williams College and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
 

Julio Cazorla Aiguabella

After his late period of more than thirteen years as Landon Family Office Director, the investing arm of the Gallardo Family, at his present stage, Julio Cazorla is Member of the Board at Grupo Corporativo Landon, Family Office developing activities in different industries such as Real Estate, Financial Investment, Private Equity in different areas (acquisitions, turn- arounds, corporate development, divestments...), Hotel Activities and Renewable Energies.

Jeff Cook McCormac
President & CEO, Policy and Taxation Group

Jeff Cook-McCormac advocates on behalf of family enterprises in their efforts to decrease the maximum federal estate tax rate and ultimately eliminate federal estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer (GST) taxes.  Cook-McCormac recently led successful efforts to prevent an increase in the estate tax rate and preserve valuation discounts, legitimate planning methods and the $5 million exemption indexed for inflation.  As tax reform returns to the fore in the context of deficit reduction, Cook-McCormac is working to mobilize the estate tax relief coalition and lobby members of Congress to fight proposed tax increases and ensure family businesses have the best chance for sustainable relief and ultimate repeal. 

Michael Coors
CEO, Outlast Technologies

Michael Coors is CEO of Outlast Technologies, a leading specialty chemicals company focused on phase change materials. Mr. Coors joined Outlast after spearheading its acquisition by Golden Equity Investments. He is also a manager at 9th Street Investments, a venture capital firm focused on advanced materials. He is currently on the board of Schulze Global Investments, a leading frontier markets private equity company, and Lightning Hybrids, a medium sized hybrid vehicle startup. Mr. Coors graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.

 

R. Kelly Crace
PH.D., Associate Vice President of Health & Wellness, William & Mary College

Kelly is the Associate Vice President for Health & Wellness at the College of William & Mary. He is a licensed psychologist, the co-author of the Life Values Inventory, and creator of The Life Values Inventory Online, an online mini-course for values clarification and personal development. He has published and presented in the areas of values, flourishing, transition, identity development, and multi-generational family organizational development. He is president of Applied Psychology Resources and has conducted over two thousand seminars for academic, business, and sport groups.
 
He has served as director of two college mental health centers at Duke University and at the College of William & Mary. He received his academic and clinical training from Vanderbilt University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Duke University. He is co-inventor of a U.S. Patented Interactive Sports Simulator System designed for scientific and entertainment application. Kelly was the recipient of the Chambers-Reid Award for Professional Excellence at William & Mary.

Mr. D’Amico has served since 2005 the family members of the founding family of Quilvest Group. He is a member of the executive committee, responsible for all client matters and the development of Quilvest Switzerland Ltd. 
 
Mr. D’Amico was in charge for 4 years of the European Private Banking Marketing Unit of Unicredit-HVB Group (UCI).  During this period, Mr. D’Amico was also the CEO of Unicredit Private Wealth Advisory, the multi family office of Unicredit.  
 
Mr. D’Amico joined Unicredit Private Banking after 10 years of experience in the Wealth Management industry in Switzerland (8 years as management consultant and 2 in a Swiss Private Bank). 
 
 

Steven Einhorn
Vice Chairman, Omega Advisors, Inc.

Steve, is the Vice Chairman of Omega Advisors, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Einhorn was Goldman Sachs & Co.’s Partner-In-Charge of the global investment research department and Co-Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee. Mr. Einhorn became a Partner in 1986 and a Managing Director in 1996. He also serves as a Trustee at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Prior to joining Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1977, Mr. Einhorn was a Manager of the common stock department at Prudential Insurance Company. He was a member of the editorial board of the “Financial Analyst Journal” and has published many articles in financial publications. Mr. Einhorn is currently a Member of the Board of Trustees of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and The Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a past Member of the Board of Directors at the New York Society of Security Analysts and was a Trustee at the Securities Industry Institute. For 16 consecutive years ending in 1994, Mr. Einhorn was a Member of the Institutional Investor “All-America Research Team”. He received an M.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois in 1972 and a B.A. from Rutgers in 1970.
 
 

Christine K. Galloway

Chris joined Okabena in 1993 as President of Financial Services and was promoted to President and CEO in 2001. She is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company including management oversight of the accounting, tax planning and compliance, financial reporting, systems, and investment management functions as well as the delivery of financial planning services to Okabena clients.  Prior to joining Okabena, Chris held management positions at the Harris Bank in Chicago.  She received her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Loraine Tsavaris

Loraine B. Tsavaris is a Senior Client Advisor and a Managing Director of Rockefeller & Co. Loraine works with high net worth individuals, families and family offices in addition to working on growth-oriented initiatives for the firm. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Rockefeller Trust Company, N.A. Prior to joining Rockefeller & Co. in 2008, Loraine was at U.S. Trust for 37 years where she served across a range of senior-level positions, with a critical role in growing the company's various high wealth businesses. Mitchell Ziets, Founder, Tipping Point Sports, LLC

Jane Flanagan
Senior Consultant

Jane joined Family Office Exchange (FOX) in 1993, and has served in a number of capacities providing value to FOX members, including Managing Director of Membership, Director of Research, and as a Consultant, where she advised and counseled family offices and financial institutions on the wealth management process and family office operations.
 
Jane currently works as a developer, writer and editor on a number of industry whitepapers and research studies for FOX members. Some of her recent works include: Financial Reporting in the Family Office, FOX Insights: New Thinking in Family Wealth, Purposeful Management of Family Wealth: A Family Office Primer, and 50 Best Practices for an Enduring Family Enterprise. In addition, Jane monitors the FOX listserv and serves as a content resource for the Consulting and Research Teams at FOX.
 
 

Charles B. Grace, III
Managing Director

Charles B. Grace, III is Managing Director at FOX.  Charlie works on strategic planning projects for families and family offices as well as wealth management advisor clients.  Assignments have included work on advisor selection, education of the next generation, leadership and succession, governance, family office structuring, among others.  Charlie is active on the family office and advisor membership and research sides at FOX, including investment focused studies and other initiatives.  He has experience facilitating member and client meetings for FOX.
  
Charlie has been active for over twenty years in the family office community advising high net worth families and serving as a resource to high net worth families and family offices.  He advised on investment portfolios and wealth management generally for almost 10 years working day-to-day at the multi-family office Ashbridge Investment Management LLC and the single family office Ashbridge, LLC.  His responsibilities included client relationships, business development, and membership on the firm’s investment committee, as well as business operations and firm strategy as Chairman of the Management Committee of the $1 billion investment advisory firm.   Charlie has been quoted in various publications on the subject of private wealth management, including The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Worth Magazine and presented at many conferences focused on private investors and family offices. 
 
 

Sara S. Hamilton
Founder and CEO

Sara Hamilton is the founder and CEO of Family Office Exchange (FOX), the definitive source of information and best practices associated with the business of managing family wealth across generations. The strength of the FOX network is derived from the collective knowledge and experience of over 330 globally-minded family enterprises based in 23 countries.  
 
Since 1989, FOX has made solutions accessible to financial families by fostering dialogue among wealth owners, family office executives and wealth advisors. In 2009, FOX celebrated its 20th anniversary of service, and remains true to its founding mission of objectivity in wealth management, member education and shared knowledge across a sophisticated, global network of families and leading wealth advisors.
 
Ms. Hamilton is the co-author of a new book called Family Legacy and Leadership: Preserving True Family Wealth in Challenging Times, © 2010, Wiley & Sons.  She serves on the Executive Education faculty of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for the course on Private Wealth Management offered twice a year in Chicago.  
 
In 2009, 2010 & 2011, Ms. Hamilton was named as one of the “Top 50 Women in Wealth Management” by Wealth Manager. She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Wealth Management and Trusts and Estates as well as a Founding Board Member of the Chicago Global Donors Network.
 
Prior to founding FOX, Ms. Hamilton worked in marketing and strategy at Harris Bank and AT&T Information Systems.  Ms. Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of North Florida.
 
 

Seth C Jackier
Managing Director, FDX Holdings LLC

Seth has 17 years experience in capital markets and structured finance. He was most recently Managing Director, Head of Central Region Securitized Products Distribution, at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the investment bank’s Institutional Fixed Income business. In this producing manager role, he was responsible for overseeing the execution of new issue and secondary transactions.  Seth played an active role in managing senior level relationships with private equity funds, family offices, hedge funds, money managers, banks, insurance companies, and pension funds.  His product experience includes securitizations of residential and commercial mortgages, credit card receivables, auto loans, small balance commercial loans, shipping containers, aircraft financing, and other various pooled receivables. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in ’00, Seth worked for five years at Lehman Brothers in their Mortgage Backed Securities and Derivative Products businesses. He has experience investing in real estate, natural resources, small business funding, and other private equity transactions. Seth’s role at FDX includes deal placement and relationship management. He also serves as a key liaison to FDX’s alliance partner,  Family Office Exchange.
 
 

Mariann Mihailidis
Managing Director, Councils

Mariann Mihailidis serves as managing director and consultant to family office members of the Family Office Exchange. In her role she oversees the management of all domestic family office relationships. As a practicing tax and estate-planning attorney, she develops strategies in wealth transfer issues, taxes, and corporate structures. Ms. Mihailidis has served as an executor and trustee, and her fiduciary responsibilities included administrative, legal, and accounting duties of various trusts and estates.
 
 

Alexandre Monnier
President

Alexandre Monnier is President of Family Office Exchange (FOX), a global organization that helps wealthy families and their advisors master the unique challenges inherent to wealth ownership.  He oversees FOX globally and has extensive experience in creating, marketing, and delivering premium services to families of wealth in the wealth management, private aviation and healthcare industries – in the US and internationally. 
 
He joined FOX from PinnacleCare, a leader in private health advisory services, where he led the development of the business in the U.S. and in Europe.  Earlier Alexandre ran Skyjet, Bombardier Aerospace’s private jet charter business.  Previously he spent 10 years as a management consultant serving firms internationally.  He started his career in finance with Societe Generale.
 
 

Linda Shepro
Co-Managing Partner, FDX Holdings LLC

Linda was previously the CFO of a large midwestern family office and served on the investment screening committee for the family’s direct investments. In that role she worked directly with the portfolio companies’ financial and technology teams. Linda also was Vice President in the M&A group of a Fortune 100 company. Subsequently, she was co founder and partner of Shepro Braun Systems, whose flagship product, Total Return, provided comprehensive back office solutions to family offices and hedge funds. Linda has an extensive financial, accounting and consulting background with family offices and alternative investments. She has worked as an advisor to FOX  concerning the design and implementation of FDX. Linda is the CFO and COO and Co-Managing Director of FDX Holdings LLC. In that capacity she serves on the investment screening committee and  manages key relationships with FOX and outside alliances.
