POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be part of a tightly-knit executive leadership team responsible for growing our business, taking care of our clients and developing our employees. He/she will be a seasoned financial services relationship executive with a proven track record of business development and a commitment to delivering an unparalleled client experience. Additionally, this person will have a strong command of investments, trust administration, philanthropy, taxes and estate planning.

 

The primary goal of this individual will be to grow assets under management by soliciting new business from high net worth individuals, foundations or other sources. This will be accomplished by working independently, as well as with colleagues across the organization, through direct solicitation of qualified prospects ($10 million or more in investable assets) and networking with professionals in the legal, accounting and other referral communities. The successful candidate will have a strong established network with direct access to prospective clients.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct development of high net worth individuals, families and foundations and continued management of client relationships with a team including a dedicated administrative and an investment officer along with other subject matter experts as needed.

  • Develop and execute marketing events to broaden brand awareness and raise Whittier Trust’s visibility in the marketplace.

  • Hire, train and supervise client advisors and other staff as needed to manage complex, multi-generational financial relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant investment and administrative regulations both internal as well as governmental. Coordinate closely with Compliance, Legal and Client Administration teams.

  • Participate in (possible lead) internal training programs

  • Actively participate in executive team meetings and projects as needed.

  • Provide key support and mentorship to junior staff to ensure their professional development.

 

DESIRED CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • Industry recognized certification (CFA, CPA, CTFA or equivalent)

  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA, JD)

  • Minimum ten years’ experience in Ultra High Net worth client service or a similar role with a successful and proven track record in new business development

  • Successful experience in building and leading teams of professionals and support staff

  • Background in wealth management

  • Active in the local community, and a solid professional network.
