Vice President, Investment Advisor

SUMMARY Sentinel provides a full service approach for a national client base -- focusing on the unique wealth and family office management needs of large, wealthy, complex families. This individual is responsible for integrated investment planning, asset allocation, and the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the investment plan with clients. The Investment Advisor is a point of contact for several individual client families and will participate in, but is not responsible for, marketing efforts. Areas of Responsibility include: 1. Investment Planning / Asset Allocation / Integrated Wealth Planning The Investment Advisor coordinates internal resources to thoughtfully, timely and without error on-board new clients, create asset allocation and initial investment plan, and implement and monitor the investment plan. 2. Investment Implementation and Performance Reporting The Investment Advisor coordinates internal resources in order to deliver accurate, timely, emotionally connected investment implementation check-ups and performance reporting which are appropriately tailored for the clients. The advisor leads investment discussions at client meetings, responds to client-initiated questions, and provides investment summary information. 3. Compliance Compliance efforts include creating, running, reviewing, and remediating issues founds in compliance reports (i.e. accounts out of band). 4. Marketing The Investment Advisor supports others in their marketing efforts. This includes representing Sentinel with clients, the financial community, and the public, as well as entering into activities that enhance the reputation of the organization and increase exposure to prospective clients. 5. Writing The Investment Advisor produces quarterly investment reports to clients. 6. Supervisory Duties The Investment Advisor provides active management, training, feedback, and supervision to direct reports, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the individual should have a Bachelors' degree and 10 years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A CFA or equivalent designation is required. This position requires a sophisticated level of comprehension of business, investment, and legal matters. The person must frequently formally represent the company to boards, regulatory agencies, clients, and prospects. The candidate must have the skills and knowledge enabling meaningful discussions with very wealthy people and their representatives about investment and general financial matters. The work should demonstrate a high level of intellectual rigor and an understanding of high net worth families' complex entity structures. Extensive knowledge of a wide range of investment classes, both traditional and alternative in nature, including experience reviewing performance and conducting attribution analysis on these asset classes.
