Trust Officer and Business Manager

Cambridge Associates Fiduciary Trust, LLC is a non-depository trust company formed under the laws of the State of New Hampshire.  The Trust Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cambridge Associates and is exclusively focused on providing fiduciary services to the firm’s private clients.  The Trust Company is an important component of the Cambridge Associates offering to ultra-high-net-worth clients.  Founded in 2011, the Trust Company oversees more than $8 billion of client assets.

 

Position Overview

This unique and challenging role provides an opportunity to practice traditional fiduciary and client service work while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a Trust Company on a day-to-day basis.  The Trust Officer and Business manager is an important member of the Fiduciary Services Team.  Working closely with the Director of Fiduciary Services, the successful candidate will act as a Trust Officer, fulfilling the fiduciary responsibilities associated with the Trust Company’s role as trustee, co-trustee and agent.  Working with the President of the Trust Company, the successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating many of the legal, compliance and administrative activities necessary to operate a trust company.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Fiduciary Services to provide client service to the Trust Company’s clients.

  •  Review trust documents and ensure that the trusts are administered consistent with the terms of the governing document and that the client’s tax and estate planning goals are achieved. 

  • Coordinate client reporting, including monthly statements, tax reporting and any other reporting needs

  • Maintain effective systems and controls to ensure that administrative activities for assigned trusts meet internal and external regulatory requirements.  Adhere to established compliance/risk management policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate with the Cambridge Associates investment teams to produce meeting materials, exhibits and presentations

  • Organize agenda and logistics for quarterly Board of Manager meetings and attend/participate in Board meetings

  • Oversee the onboarding of new clients

  • Participate in business development activities, both internally and externally including working with Business Development to track prospective trust clients and networking relationships

  • Coordinate all administrative and compliance activities associated with the Trust Company’s accounts and clients.

  • Maintain all client and trust company records.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Trust Company external vendor and internal support teams, including corporate finance, compliance, legal, risk management and investment operations.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required  

  • CTFA or JD desirable, but not required.

  • 3+ years of work experience in fiduciary services and wealth management

  • Maintains a current knowledge of trust, probate and tax law as well as general estate planning techniques 

  • Appropriate relationship management and client service experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Project management skills

  • Collegial and collaborative work style

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines.
