Tax Planning Manager- Cox Enterprises
The Cox Family Office is hiring a Tax Planning Manager to support the Generational Planning function within the Tax, Generational and Financial Planning Team. The Generational Planning function is unique in that it supports activities for maintaining Cox Enterprises, Inc. as a family-owned company, including shareholder relations services, estates & trusts tax planning, and estate administration. The Tax Planning Manager will be based in Atlanta, GA, and will be directly responsible for managing tax forecasting, modeling, and reporting packages, including all underlying supporting inventories and data. This individual will report to the Tax Director.
The right person for this role will have a strong tax planning background with experience in estates & trusts planning and related administrative matters. They must be innovative, hard-working, and passionate about client service and delivering best-in-class service. They must be open to continuous learning and feedback. Discretion and judgment are hugely important, as is the desire to be a proactive self-starter.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Spearhead efforts to develop new processes and improve the structure of data to streamline services for estate compliance and other generational planning
Build and maintain tax generational planning forecasts and models, including budgeting and tax projections
Support due to diligence planning, including analyses of tax strategies to determine impact and benefit
Create presentations on generational planning strategies to facilitate discussions with family, department, and company leadership
Serve as project manager on planning initiatives, establishing implementation plans, collating documentation, and collaborating with tax advisors and other family office stakeholders
Build estate readiness files for family members
Serve as key support to estates, trusts, and gift tax compliance and controversy processes
Monitor tax law changes and potential family impact
Assist with a variety of ad hoc requests from the tax compliance group or cross-functionally (Investments, Family Services, and Legal)
Minimum
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax required#CD# CPA preferred
4+ years of experience in tax, with a preference in the private wealth industry
-Experience in preparation of tax models and projections as well as related deliverables to aid in decision-making
Proven ability to synthesize complex information in executive-level formats
Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills required, including formulas, financial functions, correlation through pivots and logic, and formatting for executive presentations.
Ability to develop solutions by leveraging technology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly proactive with attention to detail and superior organizational and project management skills
Highest level of discretion and judgment
Exposure to the end-to-end estate administration process is a plus
Prior family office experience is a plus
