Strategic Wealth Coach

The Ascent division of U.S. Bank’s Wealth Management Group exclusively services UHNW clients with net worth in excess of $75MM. Ascent offers clients a dynamic UHNW platform that provides: open architecture investment management; personalized and sophisticated banking; estate, tax, trust planning and fiduciary services; governance and family education; accounting and bookkeeping, and other services depending on the needs of the family.

 

The Strategic Wealth Coach (SWC) will serve clients as a subject matter expert in family governance, communication systems, legacy planning, family dynamics, stewardship and leadership development for the Governance and Legacy offering within the Wealth Sustainability line of business. Candidates must have backgrounds in psychology or a family business advisor related field (relationship based) and experience in dealing with multi-generational families and the dynamics and conflicts often associated with them.

 

This individual will be a part of the national Wealth Sustainability team. The national team is interdisciplinary (e.g., CPAs, attorneys, CFPs, coaches and historians) and works with front office personnel to provide analysis, research, technical support and subject matter expertise in both traditional tactical/quantitative planning and non-traditional strategic/qualitative planning. The team participates directly in client relationships and also provides education and research.

 

The SWC will be directly involved with clients and will provide services to front office MDs of Wealth Strategy and relationship managers. The SWC will also help develop and refine the Wealth Sustainability platform offered by Ascent. He/she will also provide research and will speak and write on related topics.

Client relationship skills will be crucial in developing insight and understanding of the needs, planning, and dynamics of the family.

 

Candidate can be located in one of the six hub cities for Ascent: Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco or La Jolla.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in psychology, family governance, leadership development or similar.

  • Advanced degree in Psychology, Philosophy or similar background

  • Excellent client relationship and meeting facilitation skills

  • Proficiency in research, writing and presentation skills

  • Proficient in content development using Microsoft based products (PPT, Word, Excel)

  • Experience working with HNW families is mandatory; UHNW families preferred

  • Experience working in a large institution as part of a multi-disciplinary team preferred

  • Willingness to endure heavy travel at times
