Senior Tax Accountant

Responsible for the day-to-day Federal and State tax compliance for a Family Office with investments in real estate partnerships, operating companies and a Restaurant Brand.

Primary Duties:

  • Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company’s tax database.
  • Maintain and update tax projections on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Supervise other accounting staff members.
  • Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings.
  • Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
  • Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws.
  • Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work.
  • Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports.
  • Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of Tax Accounting Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, Masters in Tax a plus Proficiency Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Applications is required
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software applications (experience with QuickBooks a plus)
  • Real estate partnership experience a plus
  • Restaurant experience a plus
  • Family office experience a plus

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to maintain confidential information.

Work Environment:

  • Mid-town Manhattan location. The position is partial in-office and remote.
