Senior Tax Accountant
Responsible for the day-to-day Federal and State tax compliance for a Family Office with investments in real estate partnerships, operating companies and a Restaurant Brand.
Primary Duties:
- Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company’s tax database.
- Maintain and update tax projections on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Supervise other accounting staff members.
- Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings.
- Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
- Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws.
- Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work.
- Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports.
- Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of Tax Accounting Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, Masters in Tax a plus Proficiency Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Applications is required
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Excellent organization skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software applications (experience with QuickBooks a plus)
- Real estate partnership experience a plus
- Restaurant experience a plus
- Family office experience a plus
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Able to maintain confidential information.
Work Environment:
- Mid-town Manhattan location. The position is partial in-office and remote.
