Senior Tax Accountant
A small legal, financial and tax services company (known as a “family office”) located in downtown Baltimore seeks a Senior Tax Accountant. The clients of this company are all members of a single large philanthropic family. The family office offers services including tax planning and compliance, estate planning and administration, accounting, and investment oversight.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, CPA
- 5+ years’ experience preparing and reviewing individual income tax returns for high net worth clients
- Exposure to trust and estate tax preparation preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, knowledge of Quickbooks and tax preparation software (ProsystemFX)

- Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
- Proven ability to work with discretion and confidential information
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Efficient computer skills, eager to implement new technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual income tax returns
- Assist in preparation of information required for annual trust tax filings, coordinate with third-party tax preparers, and review trust tax returns prepared by preparers
- Plan and implement tax strategies and cost savings for individuals and related businesses
- Remain current on new tax legislation
- Compliance with payroll obligations for household employees
- General accounting for small business and investment entities
- Perform other duties as required
