Senior Managing Director of Operations

Arnerich Massena is searching for a Senior Managing Director of Operations. The Senior Managing Director is responsible for oversight of several departments, implementation of strategic goals and objectives, cross departmental oversight of processes, initiatives, and technology solutions.

Departmental Oversight - Provide guidance and support to department managers,  including staff/resource management, policies and procedures, performance reviews, career development, budget management, and communication.

  • Structure departments  for maximum efficiency and results, meeting budgets and accommodating growth and scalability
  • Annually, develop objectives for direct reports consistent with the strategic plan. Engage in regular dialogue and hold quarterly meetings with direct reports on progress toward meeting goals and objectives.
  • Initiate approved programs and processes
  • Identify trends and recommend process and system improvements to facilitate efficiency of workflow
  • Work with managers to create and monitor service standards for work product generated by the team, ensure standards are met and exceeded. Take proactive measures to identify any need to correct potential deficiencies
  • Meet frequently with assigned managers to discuss current challenges, resource management, personnel issues, and progress on strategic initiatives
  • Represent assigned managers/departments at Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings
  • Report on all departments to ELT

Operational Oversight and Implementation of Strategic Goals- Responsible for the firm’s core operational functions and cross-departmental initiatives

  • Organize and prioritize initiatives involving multiple departments (e.g. Performance Measurement, Portfolio Administration, Finance, Administrative, Technology,  Analytics, and Compliance)
  • Identify and facilitate knowledge sharing needs, and promote an integrated and cooperative team effort across departments with an emphasis on proactive Firmwide communication.
  • Facilitate biweekly managers’ meetings
  • Serve as central contact to ensure efficient and accurate flow of information for respective departments
  • Monitor, evaluate, report results, and make recommendations regarding cross-departmental initiatives
  • Lead and facilitate regular meetings and objectives related to the tangible operational deliverables produced for the end client
  • Anticipate requirements within assigned departments and make recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team on budgetary/capital requirements, needs, and expenditures
  • Facilitate implementation of strategic company goals and objectives by developing sound short and long-range operational plans for the organization

Technology Strategic Initiatives Management- Responsible for evaluation and implementation of firm-wide technology solutions

  • Facilitate and develop ongoing strategic technology vision in conjunction with outside resources with a focus on internal and external client service needs
  • In collaboration with other departments, assist in the analysis, development, implementation, and modification of technology based solutions aimed at improving work product, creating better efficiency, improving information flow and the quality of reporting output
  • Responsible for continued management and development of proprietary software application(s), and implementation of new software

Job Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Strong and relevant academic credentials. Master’s degree in business administration preferred
  • Proven people leader and mentor skilled at managing teams and influencing them to achieve goals and objectives in order to achieve strategic organizational goals
  • Interact cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues in an organization that values integrity, accountability, professional expertise, decisiveness and collegiality
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that promotes trust and confidence in the individual and the organization
  • Foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cohesiveness between departments and companywide

  • Ability to relate to employees of all levels of the organization and to manage the communication of strategic objectives in order to maximize the value of human capital
