RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Relationship Managers report to the Managing Director and serve as the primary contact person for a family line or group of clients. Relationship Managers are responsible for the coordination of all services for assigned clients and lead family meetings regarding investments, financial and estate planning, banking, borrowing, and insurance needs of family members. 

Relationship Managers work with the entire Office team and external advisors to provide a seamless delivery of exceptional services to the family.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for annual holistic “client audit” of each client’s financial needs.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow projections for clients, proactively making recommendations to clients with sufficient lead time to evaluate and then implement.
  • Prepare and monitor asset allocation recommendations, coordinating with both family members and external asset managers.
  • Collecting, compiling, and evaluating raw data from multiple sources to produce accurate financial summaries.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual rebalancing of portfolio holdings.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor budgets.
  • Assure accuracy of reports and adherence to budgets.
  • Coordinate client borrowings (e.g., mortgages, LOCs, credit cards)
  • Manage banking activities and relationships.
  • Manage charitable giving programs.
  • Handling special analyses and projects (estate flow diagramming, cash flow analysis, forecasting, etc.).
  • Assist in residential real estate transactions.
  • Address any tax issues with the Head of Tax.
  • Coordinate implementation and ongoing review of estate plans.
  • Oversee all insurance programs, conducting annual reviews with brokers and clients.
  • Schedule and lead quarterly review meetings with clients.
  • Prepare scenario analyses and projections.
  • Assist with any legal, regulatory, or compliance matters.
  • All other appropriate duties as assigned by the Managing Director.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred. CFP® certification.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in financial planning; estate planning, trust administration and accounting a plus.  Additional experience/understanding with investments, insurance and tax planning needed.
  • Must be able to read and analyze personal financial statements.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and Word. Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with financial planning software eMoney or similar.
  • The position and family office is located in New York City.
