RMG Associates is a national executive search firm specializing in private wealth management.  We have been retained by a leading national multifamily office to find a Regional Managing Director (RMD) for their Seattle office.  The RMD will lead an established regional team serving ultra-high-net-worth clients with net worths in excess of $50MM.  Our client will consider relocating the highly qualified candidate.

The firm has been able to attract leading talent and intellectual capital in multigenerational consulting and planning, governance, family dynamics, financial management and investment strategies.  Their platform includes: open architecture investment management; values-based planning strategies in estate, tax, trust planning; philanthropy; family history and education; personalized and sophisticated banking; and a range of other services that are customized to best serve the needs of each individual family client.

 

The RMD will manage a team of successful wealth management professionals, each of whom possess outstanding credentials and many years of experience serving UHNW family clients.  Additionally, the office is supported by a national family dynamics team.  The RMD must possess the ability to establish a strategy and vision and then to execute it by managing human capital and using all available resources.

The ideal candidate will be a leader who has exceptional professional and personal qualities.  The RMD must be a strong and confident manager who is able to lead and to champion his or her team to success.  He or she must be an excellent active listener with the proven ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.  The phrase, “confidence not arrogance,” is used within this firm to describe their culture.  Finally, he or she must have the ability to manage the intricacies that arise from a complex workload and fast-paced environment. 

 

The individual should have a stellar reputation in the industry and be a voice in the community, including leadership in the philanthropic community.  He or she should have a functional level of expertise that applies to UHNW family advisory.  It is desirable that the candidate have demonstrated “thought leadership” through publications, speaking engagements, media presence, etc.  

              

Minimum Requirements:

·         Minimum 10+ years’ experience with UHNW family clients in consultative context

·         Advanced degree and/or certifications (JD, LLM, MBA, CPA, CFA, CAIA, etc.)

·         Currently reside in Seattle or be able to relocate

·         Management and/or demonstrated leadership experience

·         Prominent public presence desired
