The Project Manager and Owner’s Representative has important responsibilities: represents the owners with trustworthiness, effective communication, follow-through and confidentiality; manages a variety of capital projects and work requests; develops, implements, manages and reconciles project plans and related budgets; partners with a variety of entity managers and directors; manages relationships and expectations of vendors and contractors; prepares Requests for Proposals and solicits bids; provides informed and researched recommendations. Sound judgement, maturity reliability and consistency are critical. Supervises an accountant position. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field
Ability to analyze and review financials and create and manage budgets
Experience:
Minimum 2 years direct and proven experience in project management
Ability to analyze and review financials and create and manage budgets
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications
Knowledge of project management tools, apps and systems
Other:
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Must work well with others and develop good relations and communication internally and externally
Relationships and experience with entities such as Dept. of Hawaiian Homelands, County of Hawai’i, and qualified and vendors
Able to prioritize multiple projects and tasks and respond to changes as they occur
Able to present recommendations and ideas clearly and concisely
Able to work a variable work schedule for weekend or after-hours projects
Understands relationships and complexities in the community, government, cultures and among organizations and other staff members
Able to travel in-state
Able to provide own transportation and operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license
Must be able to move or lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs
