Project Manager/Owner’s Representative

The Project Manager and Owner’s Representative has important responsibilities: represents the owners with trustworthiness, effective communication, follow-through and confidentiality; manages a variety of capital projects and work requests; develops, implements, manages and reconciles project plans and related budgets; partners with a variety of entity managers and directors; manages relationships and expectations of vendors and contractors; prepares Requests for Proposals and solicits bids; provides informed and researched recommendations. Sound judgement, maturity reliability and consistency are critical. Supervises an accountant position. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field
  • Ability to analyze and review financials and create and manage budgets

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years direct and proven experience in project management

  • Ability to analyze and review financials and create and manage budgets

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications

  • Knowledge of project management tools, apps and systems

Other:

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

  • Must work well with others and develop good relations and communication internally and externally

  • Relationships and experience with entities such as Dept. of Hawaiian Homelands, County of Hawai’i, and qualified and vendors

  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and tasks and respond to changes as they occur

  • Able to present recommendations and ideas clearly and concisely

  • Able to work a variable work schedule for weekend or after-hours projects

  • Understands relationships and complexities in the community, government, cultures and among organizations and other staff members

  • Able to travel in-state

  • Able to provide own transportation and operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to move or lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs
