GENERAL FUNCTION: The Wealth Strategist is primarily responsible for leading the creation and delivery of a multi-generational wealth plan for Mirador clients. In that role they also provide oversight to work prepared by the Client Service Associate and other team members. These plans and strategies developed for Mirador families involve complex financial issues, typically including multi-generational trusts, closely held business entities and private foundations. The Wealth Strategist works closely with the Mirador Family Wealth Advisor and the Mirador Team to provide a range of family office services to meet each family’s short and long term goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Experience:
· Collaborates with the Mirador team to develop and present proactive, high impact, multi-generational planning opportunities and recommendations to Mirador clients and their advisors and to demonstrate the economic and non-economic benefits of these opportunities.
· Responsible for overseeing and delivering customized multi-generational comprehensive wealth plans known as the Mirador Family Blueprint, which include proactive, high impact, multi-generational planning solutions based upon each family’s facts and circumstances.
· Reviews all client documentation provided for the planning process and oversees the development of the model and team members who enter data into the model.
· Reviews all of the clients’ legal documents and prepares and approves the summary flowcharts of clients’ current estate plans.
· Identifies issues and planning opportunities for review and discussion with the Mirador team, client and the client’s advisors.
· Conducts research related to the use of various complex tax and estate planning strategies under consideration by the Mirador team and develops financial modeling and flowcharts to demonstrate the economic impact of the strategies.
· Communicates the Mirador Family Blueprint in concert with the Mirador Family Wealth Advisor to clients and their advisors in a clear and understandable manner and responds to their questions.
New Business
· Participate in the development of select new business opportunities by working with the Managing Director, New Business Officer and Family Wealth Advisor to review available documentation, identify issues and planning opportunities and provide written materials used by the team to develop proposals, and makes presentations to secure new client business. Where appropriate, the Wealth Strategist may also meet with prospects as part of the sales process.
Other:
· Maintains knowledge of complex, advanced planning techniques and relevant legislative, regulatory and case law changes.
· Presents at and attends community and/or industry-specific forums, conferences and/or meetings in order to broaden relationships, network and continually deepen knowledge of trends, practices, products and competitors.
· Coaches and counsels internal business partners and Mirador team members on wealth planning strategies via formal training or on an ad hoc basis.
· Participates actively in community affairs and professional associations.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree with one or more of the following certifications or advanced degrees required: CFP, EA, CPA, MST, JD or LLM.
· Brings a minimum of 12 years of successful, ultra high net worth experience in estate planning and transfer tax matters.
· Must have technical expertise in estate, tax, option, retirement, insurance, investment and cash flow/capital needs planning analysis.
· Operates effectively in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance.
· Exhibits strong interpersonal communication skills.
· Demonstrates superior interpersonal negotiation, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
· Uses effective leadership, problem solving and analytical skills.
· Desires a fast-paced team environment, working with experienced professionals from multiple disciplines to deliver an exclusive client experience.
Computer / Technical: Ability to use all Microsoft Office software including: Word, Excel, and Power Point as well as Vizio and Number Cruncher.
