Human Resources Manager

We are in the process of identifying and meeting with qualified candidates for this exciting opportunity as an HR Manager for a private family office, CSC Family Partners, in the Chicagoland Area. The Family Office serves on a confidential basis the financial and personal needs of a single multigenerational family. The Position
The HR Manager is responsible for managing the organization’s HR processes and policies in support of CSC’s mission.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
General Office and Operations Management
• Manage all day-to-day office operations, including management and mentoring of office administrative assistant.
• Oversee office infrastructure, procurement of supplies, and vendor management.
• Receive, assess, solve for or escalate any office related security matter.


HR
• Help to foster our culture of superior client service, collaboration and teamwork.
• Assist the CFO in overseeing the operating expense budget for HR for the family office and family foundation.
• Serve as chief liaison with our professional employer organization that provides payroll services, health insurance, 401(k) and other benefits, and manage open enrollment process.
• Responsible for entry of payroll and tracking of PTO for all employees.
• Manage onboarding (and occasionally de-boarding) of team members seamlessly and responsibly.
• Manage year end performance evaluation process and work with employees on development of their SMART goals.
• Work with leadership team on a variety of “People Projects” – from creating annual compensation dashboards to helping organize team outings and educational programming such as lunch and learns.
• Ensure the Employee Handbook is kept up-to-date and revised each year.
• Internal communications – keep all employees updated on HR deadlines, processes and policies, and communicate co-worker achievements and other significant events impacting employees.
• Partner communications – provide weekly updates to the Partners, and serve as a close liaison regarding home-based staff and global HR strategy for CSC.
• Lead recruiting efforts for office and home-based staff, and occasionally other consultants.
• Support HR needs for an affiliated start-up company (currently with one employee), including recruiting, payroll processing, benefits procurement and performance evaluation cycle.
• Be a resource to support the professional growth and development of employees.
• Exercise consistent, independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.


Proven experience and skills shall include, but not be limited to:
• Dedicated to continuous improvement and efficiency; possess a knack for maximizing time, prioritizing tasks and streamlining processes
• A passion for managing an overall positive employee experience through ongoing HR support
• Exhibit confidence in a variety of settings; able to hold your own, answer questions directly, and think on your feet – have an authoritative voice but act with compassion
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments, work collaboratively, and manage conflict constructively
• 5-10 years of HR experience, with broader operational skills a plus
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel and demonstrated mastery of other relevant business tools and technologies
• 4-Year College Degree
• Demonstrate highest level of integrity and confidentiality in all matters
• Background and reference checks required with employment offer
• As this employee will be asked to handle finances and credit as part of this job, each qualified candidate will be asked to authorize a credit review – in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The results of this review, which will be conducted at the employer’s expense, will have a bearing in the final selection process.
