Family Office Senior Accountant

The position provides exposure to investments, taxes, personal financial reporting & budgeting, insurance and special projects.
The Position
The Senior Accountant will be assigned a variety of accounting, analysis, tax preparation and bookkeeping work necessary to meet the needs of CSC Family Partners LLC. Duties will include activities primarily for individuals and trusts and the Senior Accountant will report to the CFO.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Cash Management
- Prepare cash transfers (bill pay) and deposits
- Manage invoices through CSC formal approval process
- Manage any automated transfers and payments, including service provider fees
- Monitor and reconcile bank account statements
- Track budgets against monthly liquidity needs
General Ledger
- Assist in the set-up of internal accounting system for entities and individuals
- Establish and maintain chart of accounts for all individuals and entities
- Prepare journal entries
- Record quarterly investment entries
- Maintain cost basis for properties
Financial Statements and Analysis
- Work with CFO to prepare customized personal cash flow and net worth statements
- Track Trustee reimbursements for Principals
- Prepare monthly family office financial statements and compare to budget
- Prepare other reports and analyses as requested
Tax Preparation
- Work with Principals to collect tax information and facilitate communications with outside tax accounting firm
- Track charitable contributions and gifts
Miscellaneous
- Maintain and monitor a calendar of due dates and set up ticklers for important deadlines
- Maintain userids and passwords for Principals’ online accounts
Education and Experience Requirements
A four-year degree, preferably in accounting, with a minimum of four years of related work experience is required. CPA preferred. Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential. A general knowledge of taxes is preferred. A desire and understanding of how to manage a paperless environment is a plus.
This position requires high attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work on a variety of tasks. Personally, the candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. He/she will exhibit strong personal motivation, a high level of initiative and should be personable, persuasive, responsive and results-oriented. The Senior Accountant must be able to use complete discretion regarding the interests of the Principals and office personnel, and understand the need for total confidentiality.
