Family Office Advisor Responsibilities

With extreme confidentiality, ensure comprehensive service is provided to external clients through coordination of efforts and workflow of the Greenleaf Trust Team, outside advisors and service providers. 

As a member of the team, you will…

  • Provide proactive and “high touch” contact, communication and service to a select number of high net worth clients.
  • Help clients define their needs, goals, and objectives. 
  • Assist with the development of a personalized Wealth Management Plan and Service Agreement at the onset of the relationship as well as development of ongoing strategies to achieve the client’s near term goals and ultimate legacy plan objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a basis of knowledge in key areas such as trust and estate planning, investment management, retirement planning, tax planning and other areas touching the clients’ lives.
  • Facilitate education for clients and their families as desired or needed on a variety of topics.
  • Solve problems for clients using both internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate with client’s external professionals, such as legal and tax advisors.
  • Facilitate effective reporting and communication to clients and other interested parties.
  • Oversee and monitor all family office activity including the process of transferring funds, securities, and other assets.
  • Ensure appropriate and relative documentation is on file.
  • Participate in event-driven marketing events for Family Office clients.
  • Act in a fiduciary capacity to perform activities relative to the Family Office.
  • Accountable for the performance of the Family Office team including risk management and compliance, as well as service delivery.
  • Provide direction and guidance to direct reports including: conducting coaching sessions and developing staff, holding accountability meetings, conducting team performance meetings, performing employee observations, maintaining a Family Office plan, maintaining applicable performance improvement plans, ensuring cross training/back-up is available, implementing succession planning, ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements, and successfully exercising the usual authority of a leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years experience in estate planning, trust administration, and extremely high level, personalized customer service, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Previous experience working with, and servicing, high net worth individuals required.
