Job Summary

A St. Louis based, single family office seeks a Business Management Analyst to provide bookkeeping, bill payment, financial reporting, and special projects.  We seek an individual who is organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and has an analytical mindset. Alignment with the family’s values of respect, fairness and integrity are required.  The position will report to the Director of Finance.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for individual family members, business entities, foundations and the family office.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual individual investment overviews in coordination with the Director of Finance and external Investment Managers.
  • Prepare quarterly summary of charitable giving by family members and foundations.
  • Prepare, in coordination with the Director of Finance, an aggregated overview of assets including a summary of assets held, fees, and risk exposure.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting for family and/or entities as necessary

Bookkeeping, Bill Payment & Tax Preparation Coordination

  • Review all bills and related documents, and process for timely payment on behalf of family members and entities.
  • Process money movement requests by check, ACH, wire, or journal of assets
  • Prepare or supervise the disbursements on behalf of individuals and related entities (i.e. payroll, accounts payable, capital contributions, maintain Quicken or QuickBooks).
  • Maintain family members’ transaction detail and supporting documentation utilizing QuickBooks
  • Download & gather data from external resources as needed to maintain records
  • Verify account cash balances, generate and review monthly available cash report
  • Reconcile bank and investment statements
  • Ensure that all records from internal and external sources are properly maintained and reconciled in order for information to be available timely for tax and regulatory compliance requirements, legal requirements and analysis as needed.

Technology & Process Implementation

  • Help implement new technology to support the bill payment and accounting processes (Bill.com and QuickBooks)
  • Document bill payment and accounting processes.  Look for opportunities for improvement to make processes more efficient.
  • Drive productivity by standardizing work and creating & documenting efficient processes/procedures

Qualifications

Education/Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • Three or more year of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, cash basis and tax basis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools including Outlook, Work, PowerPoint, Excel is required
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Quicken and other financial reporting systems is required
  • Knowledge of financial terms
  • Previous financial planning experience desired
