Associate Director, Wealth Strategy

 

The Associate Director, Wealth Strategy will collaborate and lead client initiatives with other Ascent professionals in the areas of 1) multi-generational wealth and financial planning, 2) trust and fiduciary matters, 3) business and personal tax strategies, 4) charitable planning and 5) business ownership succession planning. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with our nationally recognized Wealth Sustainability team, a resource group with professional expertise spanning the traditional fields of accounting, tax, and estate planning with strategic skills and resources associated with family governance, family history, mission, vision, and values development. This individual will also correspond and collaborate directly with client’s accountants, CFO’s and legal advisors.

 

The candidate will work closely with the Managing Director, Wealth Strategy to create value-added wealth planning ideas involving tax, financial, and business matters while also incorporating delivery of our customized services in areas of family wealth stewardship, business succession planning, and financial education for client family members. Candidate should bring a consultative, creative, and client-oriented mindset while able to function as a strong contributing member of an accomplished advisory team.

 

Position Competencies:

  • Broad knowledge in trust, estate, fiduciary and tax matters
  • Experience working with family business owners and high-net worth families
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills (Excel, MS Office required)
  • Display passion, creativity, and ingenuity in the pursuit of client objectives
  • Strong ability to operate within a team environment

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in wealth planning, legal, or accounting environment

  • Undergraduate degree required 

  • JD and/or CPA required; CFP preferred
