Accounting & Finance Manager

About the Company: Single Family, Chartered Trust Company serving as Trustee for several multi-generational family Trusts.

Position Description: The Accounting & Finance Manager is a newly created position tasked with assisting the Trust Company CFO, CIO, and other Trust Company personnel with accounting, financial, investment, and tax services.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Trust Company Structure including the investment and tax considerations of all Trusts under management

• Assist the with the day to day operations of the Trust Company

• Assist the with the preparation of Financial Statements

• Assist with reporting, compliance, and various financial projects including audits

• Assist with tax compliance process including, compiling and generating tax documents, coordination with third party tax preparer, review

• Assist with tax planning, projections, and consulting

• Assist with bookkeeping, record keeping, and file maintenance

• Manage performance and other reporting through the Addepar software system

• Assist in investment due diligence and recommendation reports

Formal Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution

• CPA or similar designation strongly preferred

• Graduate Degree a plus but not required

Knowledge & Experience:

• The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of work experience, including time spent in the tax practice of a Public Accounting Firm

• Significant experience in individual, trust, and partnership taxation (both compliance and planning) including an understanding of estate and gift taxation

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel in particular

• While specific work experience in investments is not a requirement, a solid understanding of capital markets and a strong desire to add to that experience is essential

• This position requires attention to detail, accuracy and problem solving skills
