Accounting Director
Chinquapin Trust Company is seeking an Accounting Director to lead a team responsible for all financial accounting and reporting for the clients of a private trust company. Clients include individual family members, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and private foundations. This is a significant leadership role in the organization and we are looking for someone who is not just an expert in their field, but also brings a high level of personal leadership. This is a manager of managers’ role and reports directly to the COO. The Accounting Director is expected to lead beyond his/her role, demonstrating a high degree of personal leadership and mentoring others. The controller is also the business partner responsible for the financial technology systems. Core responsibilities for this position are:
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual financial reporting
- Lead the development of annual expenditure budgets and financial forecast for the company and its clients
- Oversee the budget and risk management
- Oversee investment partnership accounting
- Maintain accuracy, quality and timeliness of all financial data including ensuring proper controls and management of the audit process
- Foster a highly engaged, positive, collaborative work culture and have direct accountability to coach and lead the accounting team members
