Private Call - May 17, 2016

Overview

Tuesday, May 17, 2016 - 08:00am
Tuesday, May 17, 2016 - 09:00am
As the low rate environment persists, those who are reviewing their alternative investment strategy might do well to consider making reinsurance part of their allocation. Investors should look closely at the new reinsurance model in particular, which is expected to be a growth engine in the reinsurance industry as it provides investors with attractive returns through a tax efficient structure.

FOX members have asked for information on innovative investment opportunities. In response, and because the reinsurance trend is significant, FOX is pleased to invite a select group of family office members to participate in this unique private call for the opportunity to learn about reinsurance and closely examine a reinsurance product in the context of education. This opportunity is made possible through our relationship with CAIS, a FOX Thought Leader Council member.

Stephen A. Schwarzman, chairman, CEO and co-founder of Blackstone will start the investment conversation by commenting on important trends and opportunities impacting family offices and the need for the alignment of interests between asset managers and investors.

Ben Rubin, executive vice president, AXIS Reinsurance, and Brett Newman, managing director in Blackstone’s Corporate Development Group, will provide the following:

  • Introductory overview of reinsurance risk and reinsurance companies
  • Explanation of reinsurance as a new operating model for generating returns
  • Description of the potential market opportunity for publicly traded reinsurance companies
  • Exploration of the benefits of investing in alternative strategies through a reinsurance company
  • Presentation of Harrington Re, which AXIS Capital Holdings and Blackstone have partnered to sponsor and launch

All attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to tap into our speakers’ expertise by bringing their questions to the call. FOX investment network members will also be invited to continue the discussion privately within their network communities via their online discussion groups.

Note: FOX is offering this call for educational purposes only and does not endorse this or any type of specific investment or this specific product.
