Please join us on Wednesday, February 3, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am CT, for a live interactive webcast on Successful Integration of Newcomers in the Family Enterprise with FOX members and subject matter experts. 

In this webcast, join host Joline Godfrey, Managing Director of Family Learning & Programming for the Hawthorn Institute for Family Success, in a conversation on the hazards and opportunities of bringing newcomers into the Family Enterprise experience.  

During this webcast, Joline will: 

  • Explore the nature of what it means to be a “newcomer” through marriage, remarriage, adoption, next generation coming of age, etc. 
  • Discuss how family members facilitate or block successful integration into the Family Enterprise. 
  • Explore the competing claims of families of origin and the possibilities of families of affinity. 

Joline will draw on her experience working with diverse families and family practices to tell stories and elicit insight from attendees. You will have an opportunity to ask personal questions and share stories of your own.

    Joline Godfrey has been an innovator in financial education and well-being for families for over two decades, working with over 400 of the world’s wealthiest families. She is the author of Our Wildest Dreams: Women Making Money, Having Fun, Doing Good; No More Frogs To Kiss: 99 Ways to Give Economic Power to Girls; Twenty $ecrets to Money and Independence: The DollarDiva’s Guide to Life; and Raising Financially Fit Kids. The founder of Independent Means, she created a unique developmental approach to financial education, giving new families tools for raising children growing up in the midst of abundance. 

    Her work has earned her numerous speaking and consulting opportunities, including invitations to address gatherings for Fast Company and Inc. 500 conferences; the exclusive Padres e Hijos gathering in Latin America, hosted each year by Carlos Slim; and a historic meeting at Ten Downing Street organized by Gordon Brown to encourage a more entrepreneurial UK generation. She has spoken to families from Dallas to Dubai and at many of the most prestigious family office gatherings in the world. 

    Joline grew up in a family business, graduated from the University of Maine, and received an M.S.W. from Boston University. She spent a decade as the in-house clinical social worker for the Polaroid Corporation (her experience there is captured in a Harvard Business School Case Study); launched and sold two companies. She was awarded an Honorary Degree in Business from Bentley College for her achievements in financial education; was elected as a Kellogg Leadership Fellow and has been recognized in features for The Today Show, Oprah, Fortune, BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine, and the New York Times.

    Mindy Earley is Chief Learning Officer for Family Office Exchange. In her role, she works to foster integrated learning programs for enterprise families and is responsible for developing the family learning community. She provides support to the Family Learning and Experience Council and FOX Family Learning Network. Mindy is inspired by helping people learn, grow and discover the way that they will make personal and productive contributions, using their strengths and talents.

    Mindy has held various roles in small and large family offices and has been responsible for creating and stewarding professional learning networks in support of human and intellectual capital. She has designed learning experiences that increase the knowledge base and enhance the life path of individuals while providing personalized support and coaching to help them meet their goals.
