In his role as Director of Strategic Projects, John Michael provides strategic advice and customized solutions as a FOX consultant for US and international families and provides support to the global membership expansion initiatives.

John Michael brings practical experience to the consulting team, having spent 25+ years working for multigenerational single family offices in a wide range of roles. Prior to joining FOX, he was asked by a first generation wealth creator to help launch a dedicated office to manage his recently acquired liquidity. John Michael helped to translate the founder’s goals into clear vision and mission statements, implemented a remuneration strategy that fostered his desired corporate culture, and developed procedures and controls for managerial and financial reporting. He developed appropriate KPIs for monitoring all portfolio investments and assets, and he coordinated the outside advisors that executed the tax, estate, and trust planning when the principal decided to permanently relocate to the United States.

Previously, John Michael worked for 10 years for a Brazilian multi-billion dollar second generation family office, where he became the managing director responsible for the family’s global direct investment strategy. John Michael acted as trusted advisor to individual members of the third generation, providing support on the analysis, execution, monitoring and exiting of direct investments.

John Michael acted as interim CEO and CFO of portfolio companies, represented families and investor’s
interests in 17 boards of directors and audit committees, including two NYSE traded corporations, on three continents and in a wide variety of industries. He earned a B.S. in Business management from Universidad Gama Filho in Brazil and is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
